Caleb Picks Hokies

It wasn't expected that Joel Caleb would pick Ohio State among his finalists of the Buckeyes, Virginia Tech Hokies, and West Virginia Mountaineers. Those expectations were met, as Caleb announced moments ago he would be attending home-state Virginia Tech and faxed his letter of intent to Frank Beamer.

Caleb took a visit to Ohio State during the first weekend in December and it appeared things were trending in OSU's favor at the time. After some other prospects were evaluated and the picture got more clear for the staff, things cooled on the Richmond (VA) Clover Hill athlete who played quarterback and wide receiver during his high school career.

Word is Urban Meyer made a late push, but it wasn't enough to seal the deal with Caleb, who has liked the Hokies since the start of his recruitment and has had them out in front almost the whole way. The Buckeyes move on to wait for Stefon Diggs and Davonte Neal at the "athlete" position, as both players make their decisions in a couple weeks.

Stay tuned to 11W throughout the day as more updates come in on this Signing Day.
