We need Chris Spielman to teach these 4 and 5 star guys how to FORM tackle. Tackling overall in the past few years has gotten worse nationwide. I think a diciplined group of tacklers who use there hips and ass to tackle instead of arms would make a huge difference.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.

OK. Smith & Meyer both talked about meeting with Fickell but neither one confirmed that he has accepted a position on Meyer's staff.
Meyer went into a lot of detail about consulting with Fickell as he builds the new staff but never actually said that Fickell was going to be a part of said staff.
Stupid reporters couldn't ask a simple question.

I think it was already made official that Fickell was to remain on the staff but at what capacity hadn't been decided. Meyer didn't answer the question because he didn't know what exactly he wanted Fickell to do yet, but he did say he would have a "significant" position.
Does this look like a man who will not have a position with Ohio State next year?

Word is #1 cb in the mation might be a strong ohio state lean. If they can land diamond and one other top OL this class will be top five.
I found it interesting and very optimistic that Urban mentioned only the scholarships ascpect of the sanctions and nothing of a bowl ban. It sounded as if he knows that OSU will not be receiving a bowl ban. Am I jumping to conclusions too soon or does anybody else feel this way after watching the way he responded to the NCAA question?
I don't think the NCAA has ever given a bowl ban for a FTM charge. You have to get to the LOIC level for that penalty.

If the NCAA has said that they will not impose sanctions until mid-December then I HAVE to believe that a bowl ban is not forthcoming. OSU will have accepted a bowl berth long before mid-December and it would seem uber cruel to me to impose bowl bans in future years. Look at how much the program has already ceded to the NCAA?! I have to believe that OSU, Meyer, etc... all have a pretty good idea that the NCAA is going to accept (in large part) the current self-imposed sanctions.
If not, I go back to my initial stance...never again self-report or self-impose. Distract, deny and delay. Do everything except cooperate with the NCAA. Eff em. (See Auburn).
a buddy of mine made this point and I agree... OSU may be privy to information from the NCAA regarding their bowl status, however how is the Gator bowl et al supposed to know what is forthcoming? The potential for a bowl ban still exists. What bowl is going to invite Ohio State knowing that the possibility of sanctions remain, not being privy to the information that is afforded the athletic dept?
Is the lure of a lower teir bowl snagging an OSU team enough to whipe out the threat of a ban 2 weeks after invitation?
