Braxton Miller has his first Troy Smith moment, after having his Terrelle Pryor moment, and all of it was necessary after an epic choke by OSU's prevent defense. But all's well that ends well, and so now we can enjoy this...

Like Clark Griswold says in Christmas Vacation:
"I wouldn't have been more surprised if I woke up with my head sewn to the carpet."
Great game. Great win. Go Bucks!!
It is indescribable the regret I feel right now for not getting tickets this year. This game was incredible.
D'OH!
Braxton gettin it tonight!
Awesome, awesome game. I get to text one of my buddies who never talks shit, and his comment after last year's game was "Man great game. Did you watch?"
"Don't put syrup on shit, and tell me it's pancakes"
No matter how sh*tty the tour is, it's always tough to leave.
Nice.
No offense, but that song is beyond terrible. I'll take this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eW2ZBU9UHI
Offense taken. They won two Grammy's for their work off Brothers this year.
it's on my ipod.
"Don't put syrup on shit, and tell me it's pancakes"
No matter how sh*tty the tour is, it's always tough to leave.
Winning a Grammy is of no moment whatsoever. Like what you like, but an award from the Grammy's or an Oscar or a Nobel Peace Prize or a Pulitzer isn't worth the paper it's written on.
I'm a huge Black Keys fan. Been hip to them ever since a friend from Akron turned me on to them just after Thickfreakness was realeased. First saw them live in Brussels during their Rubber Factory tour. But I agree with you. This track might be my least favorite from them. Love how hard they rep Ohio, though.
I wanted to like that song for the exact reason you pointed out: repping Ohio. Unfortunately, I didn't. Their other songs may be great. To each, his own. Go Buckeyes!
Hahahahahaha. This guy just said the the Nobel Prize isn't worth the paper it's written on. I think Mother Thereasa would disagree, oh and also the million dollar cash prize for winning it sort of disproves the point as well. Black Keys are great.
Go Bucks!!!!
I'll spare explaining to you what the point of that comment was.
Man.... Eat Too Brutus is on a roll
I was thinking the same thing. E2B is still undefeated! :-)
Real fans stay for Carmen.
Braxton Miller: First QB in OSU history to give the biggest middle finger of a pass with seconds to spare, and it came against Wisconsin. Time to go home and eat your cheese, suckas!!!!
Okay
I may be a little drunk. Just a tad.
But this game made me think Fickell w/new, younger offensive staff is a reasonable solution
Say what you will about me.
I'm not that drunk... but I'm thinking the same.
I can't stress though how important that new offensive staff thing is
I don't know if Gene is smart enough to do it but he needs to issue an ultimatum: new guys on that side of the ball or I'm placing a call to the Meyer residence
Yup. And if Fickell really wants this to be his team, that's the biggest, most definitive step towards doing that. If he can be resolute on that fact, it should be his. Not sure it's Meyer, but it definitely says he knows what his strengths are, and where his team's weakness is, and he's prepared to make the difficult decisions.
I love Fickell, and I hope he succeeds wherever he ends up after this year, be it at OSU or elsewhere, but I think he needs to win out to even get considered for the HC position moving forward.
That being said, the defensive side of the ball looks legit. And with Braxton coming into his own, it's exciting to think what a strong offensive staff could produce
E2B and ProCombat = undefeated.
I think Brax smiled twice tonight. Once as the game ended, and once when he was getting trampled during the post-game. Even-keel if I've ever seen it.
"Have you earned your buckeye today?"
The poised look on Braxton's face before several big plays was a welcome sight. It's obvious that the kid is learning every day and getting better every game.
Getting the plays in early has been key! Watching his eyes scan back and forth slowly and intently shows he's really using his thinking-cap before he gets started.
Very good from him tonight with no big-negative plays and no picks or fumbles. Oh, and a few big plays here and there!
"Have you earned your buckeye today?"
The coaches dream: scenario huge win, yet numerous "teaching moments," especially for the young defense. The pups in the secondary have outstanding talent, but obviously they still gets lost at times.
Aside from the breakdowns at the end, Heacock deserves a lot of credit. He basically had to reconstruct the defense when Nathan Williams went down.
Page 1 of the Braxton Miller legacy is written on Oct. 29, in the Shoe, against the weasels, awesome game.
****igan smells like old water that hot dogs were boiled in. FACT
five wides all night and they put up 45 points.
Ohhh... Braxton is growing up right in front of our eyes. The composure, the improvisation, the leadership,... Wow! His teammates are starting to feed from his leadership. Did you see them around him on the sideline? Awesome.
Has a hell of a strong arm too. He'll need to work on touch next. He's too strong at times when he doesn't need to be. But still... he's growing. Let's get him ready for scUM.
He's got three and a half years to continue to grow. This offense is starting to figure things out, and the defense is looking like a veteran unit, save for a couple of DERP moments (Prevent defense can lick my nutsack) here and there. John Simon is an absolute monster.
89 rushing yards for Wisconsin. Even in my worst acid-induced hallucinations...never did I think we would hold them to under 100 yards rushing.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
im with poguemahone.......fick is back in play.....but still has some work to do. the D is unreal right now, and a new offensive staff could really help
If USC can answer with their own TD in this 1st OT period, they should go for 2 to win it right then.
The more series, the longer the game, the more the odds favor Stanford - the superior team, IMO.
USC did not listen to me.
Because I was wrong.
Check that - I was right afterall.
I agree about Fickell. He's always been in play. The key was - and still is - that the team keeps progressing, getting better every week, working through challenges. We'll have to see how they do going forward.
I've never written Fickell out like others have. That being said, I haven't written him in, either, but I'm hoping he passes the tests and gets the job. It's still in a position where I think we need to evaluate it at the end of the year -- we don't have enough data yet. Let's see how he handles the Michigan game.
Exactly.
Bucky's Fifth Quarter is in full meltdown mode right now.
I, for one, welcome our new coaching overlords.
Man I really needed this, this year has pretty much sucked. I feel a bit better right now. The team did not fold, they kept playing through adversity. After the Neb. game I thought this team was mentally soft, they answered that question today.
go bucks
Winning is the best medicine for all of us. Proud of the boys tonight. They played their hearts out.
I, for one, welcome our new coaching overlords.
If you picked against Ohio State you can turn in your buckeye fan cards.
Given the state of our team I don't blame the people who aren't blind homers. I didn't think we would win either.
Thank you who's next? Balbert? Buckeye Jason? where are you?
I'm from Cleveland. I think all of my teams will lose all of the time. 36 years of being kicked will do that to you.
I didn't think we would win (I said 20-16 in a close but disjointed game). That, in no way, makes me less of a fan. I try to be realistic. I'm very happy I was wrong.
Thank you a simple "im sorry" would be nice. This isn't the browns we actually have a shot at every game we play.
What am I apologizing for?
I believed we'd win tonight, but I can understand this mentality. If you're from Cleveland, you're always waiting for the other shoe to drop...
I'm right here. Go back to the Game comments where I wrote" Tampa you were right, I was wrong". There's no need to turn in fan cards that's stupid. That would probably mean half of Buckeye nation should then right? Great win and I'm exstatic as I wrote in the game comments.

i hope you put money on wisky... that is all.
never bet on a game, if i was a betting man though, i would never bet against the buckeyes no matter what. but if im going to use logic and try to make a prediction, i will go with my common sense/instinct. but my heart will be with the bucks, because i'm a true buckeye fan...
Tampa are you trying to start something?
Tampa's a deuche, don't worry about him.

At the game. Went apeshit. Almost got trampled with my girlfriend rushing the field. Travis Howard shouldn't start another game, and Miller will be a special player. What a great game. Go Bucks!
I was totally wrong on this game and I couldnt be happier! How many times has the offense came up with not one but two huge plays in the fourth to win the game. Braxton just made a pass that will live forever in Buckeye lore!
I don't want to jinx anything, but I like our chances to win out. At the beginning of this season, I predicted a 9-3 regular season. After the Nebraska game, I thought there was no chance any more. But now I'm a believer again. If the NCAA let's us, I think we've got a date with Nebraska in Indianapolis at the end of the season. And if we get a second chance against those Cornhuskers, I like our chances of getting to the Rose Bowl.
Real fans stay for Carmen.
Isn't the seeding in each division determined by overall conference record, not division record? If not, we beat Penn State and we're going to Indy.
Can you believe this team lost to Miami?
It is indeed overall conference record. But that means we still need to win out, because we've already got 2 losses in the Big Ten. In addition, Penn State needs to lose to us and at least one other team (because they are currently undefeated in B1G play). But I like our chances.
Real fans stay for Carmen.
State Penn has Nebraska, Wisky and us left on their schedule. I like the odds of them losing two of those three. Especially after their performance today against the suckling Illini.
you are correct about conference record. can't assume bucks will win out, i like their chances but dont want to set expectations too high, imho. indian, purdue, pstate, and the team up north... all absolutely winnable... that loss to miami was heart breaking. re-match? bucks win, hands down.
I like our chances, too.
We do have two road games: one could be a trap (Purdue) and in the other roadie, the opposing coach will blot out the sun.
Also, we all know that Moxie will completely pull a decent performance out of his azz, no matter how terrible he was in the previous 3 games, etc.
Really, Erin? grabbing guys? Really? that looked stupid.

What a friggin game. Amazing. Two things:
1. Braxton will be better than Pryor because of the poise and maturity he has.
2. Let's not get too hasty with the Fickell love. He was 20 seconds away from being villified in CBus until Braxton saved him.
I COMPLETELY agree with both points here
I don't agree with playing Jordan Hall on the goal line and making Boom sit.
That did seem strange. I bet there was more to that decision that we are unaware of... (Wish the reporters had asked Fickell about it in the post-game presser...)

If 11W really wants to break the fear of the gray box, they should use it to post something excellent about this game. As in, create a .gif of Braxton's bomb, and put it in the box. Watching that majestic strike on loop would do wonders in terms of promoting good feelings with the gray box
The positives are:
1) Miller generally looking more comfortable and less rattled, with a few understandable (due to youth) exceptions. (Stop extending the ball for first downs! Not worth the risk!)
2) BOOM
3) Strongest effort yet from the front four, and (for most of the game) the linebackers.
4) The miracle finish--there haven't been many quite that dramatic in program history.
5) Keeps alive the possibility of a decent bowl game, assuming no ban.
6) We owed these jerks.
The negatives:
1) The loss to Nebraska looks even worse now--we'd be in strong shape now had we just clung to our 21-point lead.
2) Wisconsin scored 2 touchdowns in 2:09 combined to take the lead before Miller's heroics. There has to be something basically wrong with what we're doing in these late-game, slim-lead situations that goes beyond a simple prevent.
3) I would hope these last two wins don't lead to a false sense of security regarding some very necessary staff changes.
4) I wasn't there. Nights like this are when I miss Columbus.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
That was glorious.
It went from "Up 12 with 4 minutes left. We won!"
To "Up 5 with 3 minutes left. Shit."
To "Down 3 with 1 minute left. I hate everything."
To "OMG HAIL MARY! WE WON AGAIN!"
hahahaha, roller coaster... gotta love college football.
You're right. We did win that game twice, didn't we? :-)

At least! It felt like more than that.
That just felt like a mini 2002 natl championship game... Cannot sleep...brutal yet wonderful!!
LP
Under the radar breakout performance: Bellamy beasted it.
Good call. Also, the LBs played better.
Alright, now that I've calmed down from a ridiculously insane game with an even more ludicrious ending, here are my takeaways.
1) Defense played stellar for roughly 57 minutes. I hate Prevent defense with every fiber of my body. The boys pulled it together on that last drive, especially the front four. Simon is looking to be an absolute beast and future All-American.
2) Braxton Miller is going to be absolutely lethal. The cold, steely glare that shows confidence, not cockiness. Making good reads on option runs and making the most out of terrible situations. He's going to get better, and the better he gets, the better this offense is going to get.
3) Fickell is starting to get his legs under him with this job. Some of the uncertainty is going away and we're seeing a little better management. He still has a long way to go as a head coach, but I think he's getting it. That being said, I'm still not sure that he's the man for the long-term. Only time will tell, but tonight, Coach Fickell will sleep pretty well knowing that Columbus is happy with an incredible win.
4) Play-calling on offense still blows a big fat dick. Jim Bollman's predictable high school offense is really driving me crazy. If Fickell does get the job, there had better be a gigantic clause in the contract saying that the first thing that happens is Bollman gets his walking papers. Siciliano too, while we're at it.
5) This season is starting to shape up a lot like 2004. We've had some off nights, but with a very young team that is growing in front of us, the future is incredibly bright. I hope the Big Ten enjoys the down year that we're having. It's going to be the only one we have for awhile. I am very confident in saying that.
I, for one, welcome our new coaching overlords.
Nebraska beats MSU and Minny takes down Iowa. What a weird week.

Fickell said in the post-game press conference that just before Braxton took the field after Wisconsin's TD, "he looked at me and winked and said 'we're alright'."
Love the composure, love the humility from Braxton.
Confidence. Pure confidence.
I, for one, welcome our new coaching overlords.
that just made this night even sweeter
1. I knew that Wisky wasn't going to embarrass us today because: last week showed me that they were a little overhyped (the offense anyway); we had a bye week; we were at home; they were still beat up from Michigan State; we owed them an ass kicking after last year. Deal with it Bucky!!!!
2. Why wasn't Carlos "The Hammer" Hyde used in goal line situations tonight? Is he in the dog house?
3. How much better would the offense be with Posey streaking down the sidelines?
4. Ryan Shazier is going to be a stud. Give that dude more minutes!!!
5. Braxton Miller is going to be a stud. Stay healthy please.
6. I'm totally happy with the lines on both sides of the ball tonight. This might be my favorite part.
7. Travis Howard needs to get a lot better. Hell, Bradley Robey needs to up his game too. Christian Bryant is a head hunter but he needs to focus on tackling. Too many wiffs tonight.
8. Ryan Shazier!!!!!!11
Totally agree about Shazier! That dude can flat out find the football. And when he can't, he destroys someone else instead! This guy should be on the field as much as possible!

Braxton "The Waterboy" Miller. What a crazy ending to an incredible game! We just won the Bourbon Bowl!
I love me some Black Keys, but this win has me feeling a little nostalgic, thinking back to the old victory video I celebrated to on many a night. A quick youtube search:

This win felt pretty damn good. Go Bucks!!
I just got back to my room at the hotel. There is some kind of party goin' on here in C-BUS.Thank God ol' Dave saved us tonight.Boom saved Bolls for sure.I still say this team just may be The Cream Of The Crapp, that calls itself The B1G.Can't believe that stinkin' D gave up that many points.A win is a win .I gotta get back out to the party.GO BUCKS!
I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
Going to state the obvious because nobody else has: career day for Boom. Wow!
Despite his fabulous performance, though, he didn't get a TD today. So his streak is broken. :-(
If you had told me before the game that OSU would end up with 33 points, I would have bet my house that Boom would have at least one touchdown... Guess it's a good thing I don't bet on sports!

I honestly didn't even realize he had a TD streak going. He does seem to have quite a run of 100 yard games going back into last year.

I think I've watched this 50 times tonight. I was at the game. Flew out from Los Angeles. Took my mom (her first OSU game). Lost my mind on this play. Gave and received hugs from people I've never met in the ensuing celebration. That moment will be forever in my mind. Nice introduction for my mom to OSU football.
Why is our prevent defense so f*ing awful? When you're only rushing 3 or 4, how hard is it to have at least one guy covering each possible receiver? Given that a prevent defense should have enough guys to cover every receiver and then some, how is it that Abbadabba (or whatever that stink-weasel's name is) can end up so wide open?! Can someone please explain this to me because I honestly don't get it.
Real fans stay for Carmen.
The problem is the prevent offense....
The OSU staff deserved to lose. I am glad the stud QB bailed the team out again...Krenzel, Smith, Pryor, but how pathetic. I knew as all of you did OSU be 3 and out with not even a minute off the clock from wretched play calling. I remember watching games won under Tressel were I can't believe I was agrivated over a win. And not just the Sugar bowl.
SUCK IT!!!! Football happens. And it finally happened to our Buckeyes!!! You can go fuck yourself. GO BUCKS!!!!
Foul language is fine when expressing emotion. But I think you should try to avoid it when criticizing others. Here are a couple examples to help illustrate the point:
1) "That was fucking awesome!" - Acceptable.
2) "Go fuck yourself." - Unacceptable.
When you're still experiencing the high of an amazing win (in addition to any potential alcohol-induced effects), it's understandable that you might be less tolerant of those who are being critical of our beloved team. But still, please do what you can to make this website a "nice place to visit" (even for those with whom we disagree).

This was an unbelievable win. It puts us into contention for a divison title and a Rose Bowl berth.

A few years ago I started a habit of having a "Buckeye Beer" (or two, or) after a win.
Haven't had too many this year. This one (one?) is especially nice tonight.
Go Bucks
From the 2007 HBO special ---->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iI7x_DDPcLo
turn that habit into a tradition bruce, GO BUCKS!
I know I wasn't the only one that called it, but I just wanted to point out that last Saturday night I wrote: "We will win. Write it down." Just sayin.
I just now finished watching the game. I had to watch the kids for a few hours tonight and there was no way I was going to be able to do both. And thank god I didn't try because I'd have some very emotionally scarred children right now if they had to endure sitting through that game with me. I literally fast-forwarded through the last 3:30 after we punted, up 26-21. Even kept fast-forwarding after we scored. No way I could have watched that last 3:30 in real time. It's not that i thought we'd blow it, even though we did temporarily, but i just knew it was going to be an extremely dramatic finish. After the last 10 months, not sure I can handle much more drama. I have no idea what the rest of the season holds, but it doesn't matter. This is a good, young team that is playing above expectations. They are getting better and the future is bright.
I think I would have done the same, with the fast-forwarding. I didn't know what to think at the point in the game when we went down 29-26, putting the game in the hands of a FR QB who hasn't (at least I don't think he has) run the 2 minute offense. Love the fact he keeps his eyes downfield when scrambling.
I didn't predict a win, but I said I hoped Braxton would take a step forward this game. I believe I got my wish, and then some.
anyone know if it is possible to download a torrent of the game and from where??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwuXzK5Mehs
Anyone else notice Braxton's reaction after the play? Looks to the sideline, big smile, nothing too crazy. I liked what I saw all night from him, survey the field pre-snap, just looked cool as a cucumber. He's growing up as the season goes on. Also, I don't think we can underestimate what Boom brings to the offense, not just from a stat perspective. The offense just looks better with him in there. I would like to see Carlos Hyde get some touches, don't really understand what's going on there.
With a new offensive staff next year and the defense coming back we could be on the road to a special season barring anything major from the NCAA.
I don't think there is anything going on with #34... he's just third on a deep corps of RBs.
i bet he doesn't post any stupid "tweets" anymore... dont know that it's related...
I can't wait to go to work on Monday and tell some of my coworkers that the greatest team Wisconsin has EVER had got beat by a typical Buckeye Defense...were going to be undefeated...wait.. will at least will win the Rose Bowl...Wait...We just got beat by the Buckeyes. Pay backs a BITCH bucky.

How about Jordan Hall making up for his fumble with the long return to put us in position?
That was very un Hall like to fumble on the punt returns, I had a feeling he'd redeem himself later in the game. He ran hard on that short t.d as well, gave a lot of effort.
