Bill Greene from Scout just confirmed that Kyle Kalis has de-committed from Ohio State. Kalis, a top five nationally ranked offensive lineman in the country, recently re-affirmed his commitment to Luke Fickell, but apparently has had second thoughts. This is what he said about his decision:

"I did speak to Luke Fickell minutes ago, and I told him I was de-committing from Ohio State. I want to keep all my options open, and will consider several programs going forward, including Ohio State. That's really all I want to say about my recruitment at this time."

This is a big blow for the Buckeyes as it seemed Kalis was headed towards being the "Mike Brewster of this year's class" and was going to help Luke Fickell recruit other players interested in playing for the Buckeyes. On top of this, offensive line is the greatest need for OSU at this time and to stab the knife in the back one more time, it appears that Michigan is now the leader for his services.

The Buckeyes are still in the mix to land Kalis, but after ultimately de-committing twice, I just can't see him ending up in Scarlet and Gray. This move could potentially open the door for other elite recruits to jump ship, and things may not head upwards for the Buckeye recruiting efforts until the final sanctions are levied and a permanent head coach is put in place.
