Great day to be a Buckeye...Sugar and 15 and OH!
problem Arkansas?
how to image tag?
i gotcha
Does this win finally put Tressel above Woody? Considering the greater parity these days, I'd have to say it just might. Can't say for certain, but it almost definitely puts him on par
I'm only 25 and I love Woody for what he did for THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY...but yes, I believe it does.
I love Coach Tressel but I believe he needs to win another championship in order to surpass the legend of Woody.
This game was everything I love and hate about Jim Tressel at the same time. In the end, the love wins out.

100% agree. He knew exactly what he wanted to call in the first half and knew exactly how he wanted to run the clock out in the second half. It's never pretty, but goddammit it works.
May getting booed!
"Don't put syrup on shit, and tell me it's pancakes"
No matter how sh*tty the tour is, it's always tough to leave.
HOW SWEET IT IS.
LMFAO at the boos for Mark May during the interviews.
Love you, Heyward and Rolle. Gonna miss you gents. Seniors, you did well.
First half was pure bliss, second half was not so much. Solomon Thomas did a thing, and it all worked out. Wow.
Taquitos.
Love this post. FTW.
And we'll drink to old Ohio, 'Til we wobble in our shoes!
I LOVE OHIO STATE!!!! GO BUCKEYES, DAMMIT!!!!!!Q
hey guess what brian rolle is as awesome as he is short
HAHAHA THAT LOOK SANZO GAVE WHEN TRESS TALKED ABOUT CLASSES
I LOVED it when Dane addressed Lou Holtz "Dr. Lou," and didn't give any love to May. LOL
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Love my Buckeyes!! Hate those dicks at ESPN. Thank you seniors. Cam Heyward...class act.
I'm gonna miss all the seniors whether they played, contributed or whatever...They did what they did and they will be missed!
Not sure how I can sleep after this. Gotta get up in 4 hours.
Season finished about as good as possible after the Wisconsin debacle. Another top 5 finish is likely.
1) Oregon or Auburn
2) TCU
3) Oregon or Auburn
4) Stanford
5) Ohio State

Let's be real - the victory was not only against Arkansas, but Michigan, by way of Mallet.
He's proven he still has Michigan in him!!
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
Once a "Michigan Man," always a "Michigan Man." And Mallett proved it tonight! LOL!
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
bummed about one thing they had a free shot at douchebag may and didnt take it... but watching him and how uneasy he looked and how gamey crow tastes is awsome go bucks
....like Doss did to Trev Alberts? I wish that was on the DVD.
"Don't put syrup on shit, and tell me it's pancakes"
No matter how sh*tty the tour is, it's always tough to leave.
i concure...may should take note trev is now a lunchlady in the southern nebraska school system . it was classy sanzy goes shakes holtz hand then it gets awsomely akward
I love the Janitor!!
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
Sucks that he's a senior and we can't pin him with that name next year.

Top 5 Buckeye wins under Tressel:
1) Miami 2003
2) Arkansas 2011
3) Oregon 2010
4) Michigan 2006
5) Michigan 2001
Anyone dispute this list?

Spot on!
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
switch 3 and 4, but you cant go wrong as long as miami is one
At the time, it felt that way, but getting stomped by Florida takes so much away from it.
Getting the SEC Monkey off our back might be more than the Rose, but the Rose was a bit more prestigious. Are there any other games.

How about Holy Buckeye? Maybe #6? :)
That's a top moment, not a top win for Tressel.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
The Rose was sweeter. Michigan 2006 more epic. This was a nice win... but awkward.
This one is way sweeter for me. There's a lot of reasons, but just one of them is the SEC fans. With Oregon they can say "overrated" and move on. With this one they could say "overrated", but then how could they explain how they did so well in SEC play?
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
i think the oregon game is higher than tonight, although the job that the coaches did in shuffling their secondary and d-line and somehow containing mallett was maybe the best coaching job i've ever seen.
Sounds about right.
I will swap numbers 2 and 3, thank you.
I'm so effed up off the punch I made..GO BUCKS.. WOW I LOVE YOUTHANK YOU FOR YOUR WIN!!!!
Euphoria! Some of the last 4+ hours sucked, but most of it was awesome.
I love college football, I love college football, I love college football.
When the pairing w/ Ark was announced, a Hawg fan commented that Ark was notorious for always doing random cluster f-k plays to lose big games, but he was sure that Petrino had ended the curse. $20 says that's what Hawg fans are saying about the failed opportunities in this game, especially the woulda. coulda punt block (non)TD.
This was an AWESOME win. So happy for the seniors and Tressel, and the Tat 5. Hard to hate on Pryor after watching him play and hearing what he had to say after the game. In my opinion this is one of the most successful senior classes ever. 4 wins against Michigan, 4 BCS bowls, a rose bowl win and finally getting rid of that SEC monkey on their backs.
How many years did the second half take off your life? I'm guessing six for me.
And we'll drink to old Ohio, 'Til we wobble in our shoes!
If not for the Lisinopril, last night would have been it for me...

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKING RIGHT SIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hail Tressel, savior of the Mid-West!
"Don't put syrup on shit, and tell me it's pancakes"
No matter how sh*tty the tour is, it's always tough to leave.
So, not sure anyone else noticed this but, both the basketball AND football buckeyes won by exactly 5 points. Is this some buckeye black magic going on or what? Either way I'm very, very happy. Also, there are the 5 suspended "tatgate" players....strange coincidence I guess.
Whatever though GO BUCKS!!!!!
My favorite number is 5. So I guess its all me. Cool.
Buckeye born and bred. Buckeye til I'm dead.
555 is the number of the beast's mother-in-law.
5 x 5 x 5 = 125, which was Ark's net rushing yds for the game.
5 + 5 - 5 = 10, which was Ark's FH point total.
Incidentally, Dan Brown won $1,000 betting on the Buckeyes in this game.
Eerie . . .
They did it for Chekwa (#5).
Voodoo. For sure.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Watching it again on DVR already!
Buckeye born and bred. Buckeye til I'm dead.
1-9 YEAH!!!!!!!!! Or rather, 1-0!!!!! Fuck the 9!!!!
Because of their tragic history, I wouldn't normally pile on Ark. But SEC + their players seemed to do some triffling things in the game (e.g., Heyward was irate about something), they strutted around every time they made a reception, etc.
So much for mercy.
Saw that too. Pretty trashy behavior.
Johnny Hooker: "He's not as tough as he thinks". Henry Gondorff: "Neither are we".
After the blocked punt, was anybody else thinking, "Bryce Haynes would've personally ensured that kick got off, what with his deep snap being .2 seconds faster than anyone else"??? Anybody??
I kid you not, that was my first thought.
hahahahahaha YES IN FACT I DID
I was thinking that Buchanan took 18 belabored steps before trying to punt the ball, so Mr. Haynes might not have made a difference there.
We just beat ARK, and I'm celebrating for 40 days and 40 nights, baby!
And then maybe even a little more after that.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
I have a friend carrying on about how the Big 10 is a joke. I said but the number 2 or possisbly 3 team in the Big 10 just knocked off the number 2 team in the SEC. He said well it's easier for the Ohio State to make these BCS games. I said so why is it that Tressel is 5-3 now in the BCS and Ohio State is 6-3 overall, clearly making it the most dominant team in the BCS era. He had no response just as I thought.
If we didn't win this I would've blamed those refs. We were getting screwed on everything, that fumble recovery, that safety. So many people were trying to make us lose.
On a positive note, as much as I freaked out about seeing such inexperienced players in the secondary (I think Howard could've sucked it up at least a little)...I have to give them all props. I expected Mallet to absolutely torch them and they held their own.
...............it did help that the Arkansas receivers had a bad case of the Poseys though.
The only call I couldn't believe was the freakin safety, that was absolute BS. That call alone cost them 5 points, not to mention what may have resulted if the Bucks sustained a long drive. I have to say, losing Checkwa was a terrible loss. I feel bad for the kid too. He was probably going to get drafted in a decent spot, now he has surgery and rehab ahead of him. Wish him all the best.
I did think Clarke had recovered that fumble and then had it pulled out of his hands, but it's always the last guy who comes out with it that gets it. The safety was a joke, and the false start when the defender came across was bad, too.
I second the post describing this as the best and worst of Tressel Ball. I hate to quibble, but wouldn't it have been nice to have coasted to a 15 point or so win?
For those of you who are doubters of the Vest, shame! You live in a world of rainbows & unicorns, where the Bucks go undefeated every year and beat the spread in every game. Kindly go away.
Couldn't be happier for the seniors. Well done. You upheld the increasingly questionable honor of the Big Ten.
Didn't they still beat the spread? If not for the phantom safety call, the game is a 2 score difference.
No NC for these seniors, but this has to be one of the most underrated classes ever, IMO.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Loved the play action tight end pass that we rolled with in the first half
Easily one of the best plays I've seen us run. So out of character for us.
Sugar has never tasted so sweet...F5
Cam was pissed because 1) he was held the whole game and it was only called once and 2) dick wad Mallet kicked him in the arm with his cleats -that's why he had his arm wrapped for the rest of the game. Pryor's injury also came at the bottom of a pile with a hog twisting the sh!t out of his ankle. Nice class shown by Ark/SEC players.
Exactly. Ark players had no class, so no quarter for Ark fans. Merciless taunting it will be.
Don't forget the lineman chipping at Cam's knee.
Heyward may Mallet squeal like a pig.
Seriously did anyone notice how Mallet tried to kick anyone on top of him, like after every single tackle? I remember one time seeing him try to back swipe a kick to Andrew Sweat's (think it was him) go-nads.
Mallet is such a girl. Also a little pissed at Hog linemen diving at Heward's knees. Fuck Arkansas.
Johnny Hooker: "He's not as tough as he thinks". Henry Gondorff: "Neither are we".
This is going to make the off season a lot easier. Kick back, watch the basket ball Bucks into March, Braxton's spring debut as a Buckeye, discuss our loaded backfield, finish a stellar recruiting class, and talk about position battles for next year. It's like another thanksgiving, my friends.
Ok I know I mentioned this earlier but I was reading about the OSU basketball game and guess what....
Ohio state basketball won by FIVE points over Iowa tonight, the first time we have beaten them FIVE times in a row in school history. Ohio state football ALSO won tonight by FIVE points over arkansas, the first ever bowl win over the SEC in history for us. The team also has FIVE suspended players.
Alright thought that was cool but I'm done now GO BUCKS!
I am still in awe. Great game. Tressel is a PHENOMENAL coach and I wear my vest w/pride. Woody won a few more national championships but it took him 26 years. Tress may be able to to that sooner in his career (hoping he stays as long and is still successful). I wasn't alive for Woody's tenture sadly. So the nod goes to Tress in my book.
"We have a quarterback, obviously, that's kind of ridiculous running the ball." - Urban Meyer
THIS REALLY HAPPENED!!!! OHIO STATE BEAT AN SEC TEAM IN A BOWL!!!!! GO TP!!!!
Yeah, after watching tonight and the effort that all the Tat 5 gave, makes you think next year is going to be special. I think they all return. I hope Brewster and Williams come back too. The team could be very special again next year. I have a feeling the suspension gets reduced to 2 or 3 games too. We'll see I guess. Great way to go out for the seniors though, I really feel this is the one of the best senior classes to go through Columbus. I also think, despite what others say Pryor goes out as the most decorated QB in OSU history. He beat the SEC, he won the Rose Bowl, he's beaten Michigan 3 times. If he comes back after the suspension and beats Michigan and wins a title or another BCS game, who was more successful?
In my opinion, Tressel is Ohio State's greatest coach. He has won a lot of games. He has taken this team to an unprecedented amount of BCS bowls. He has the championship as well. He has dominated Michigan and only 3 of those seasons that team was bad. This point in time in college football there is a lot more competition than in Woody's tenure. Also, and perhaps some will hate me bringing this up, but Tressel will never do anything to embarrass the program like Woody did. It's not fair that he is remembered for something like that, but he did make a monumental mistake that day and Tressel will never do anything like that.
Man, I'm going to miss seeing this guy in Scarlet and Gray. I told you Buckeyes fans he'd be "great."
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Sanz is the man, homey.
I just realized something looking at that picture I posted...as Dane is diving for the ball, I see 5 freaking Razorback helmets, and they look like they are playing TWISTER!
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Any thoughts on tomorrow's front page picture???
I'm thinkin the TP Tressel chest bump, Dane diving for the ball in the endzone, or Cam Heyward on his knees in pure extasy after the interception.
All those images I will cherish for a loooong time but I've got to go with the shot of cam.. sent chills down my back and it looked like his return for his senior year was vindicated and he was looking up to his pops ironhead... just a phenomenal picture with an amazing individual
I agree, when I saw that I thought to myself, that is one of the most classic images I will ever see in my lifetime!
Can you link me to those three? Or at least the Cam one?
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Sorry but I don't know of any...yet.
I was just picking moments in the game that I figured would be the best images.
You know what? Screw Petrino and screw Arky's players. Cocky sonsabitches that pout when things don't go their way. OMFG what if you give Petrino 4 weeks to prepare for a game? You get schooled by Jim Tressel and the Silver Bullets. Something around 28-10 at half and could have been worse (could have been better for Arky). Razorbacks don't get in it until Tressel goes full Tressel mode. There's a reason why Jim Tressel rides the line of love/hate and tonight it was on full display. Glad it worked out for the good guys.
Hey guys, I just got home from work. So what happened with the game?

October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Can we just make Solomon Thomas the spokesperson for every person on this team from now to the end of his career? What a guy.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
What did Thomas say? I'm assuming this was on local cbus news?
He's just so well spoken. Especially for a guy that rarely gets media attention. He didn't really say anything eye-popping it was just really impressive the way he spoke and how he felt about the win.

He was also this great when the players were aplogizing to the media and fans.
