While you were busy eating turkey, college football was busy going ham. After an insane weekend featuring ridiculous comebacks from Auburn and Nevada and a ridiculous bedlam match between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, we're close to having the bowl picture completely filled out. What we do know is that if Oregon and Auburn both win, they're playing for the national title. If just one wins, TCU is all but assured of filling the other spot. If they both lose, may god have mercy on our TCU v. Oregon/Stanford national title. Until we get to that point, we rank the teams based on how we think they shake up. Tell us how much you irrationally hate Nevada despite having only seen them play once all year -- and besides, when will Boise State show us their birth certificate? What have they got to hide?

Oregon Ducks For a Black Friday matinee made us believe 'Zona had a chance then promptly turned up the burners to smoke the Wildcats, 48-29. The annual Civil War matchup is all that stands between Oregon and playing for college football's national championship. Next up: at Oregon State, 3:30 PM. --
Auburn Tigers In one of the games of the year, sleep walked through about three quarters of football but never lost their composure before coming back to beat Alabama 28-27. Cam Newton has the Heisman all but sewn up; can't Auburn wrap a BCS Championship Game berth as well? Next up: SEC Championship Game vs South Carolina, 4:00 PM. --
TCU Horned Frogs After getting off to a shaky/stage freight ripe start, the Horned Frogs (inspired in part by a profane lambasting from head coach Gary Patterson) found themselves and absolutely took it to New Mexico, 66-17. Quarterback Andy Dalton was banged up but is expected to be back for either the Rose Bowl or the BCS title game should the breaks go their way. Next up: Rose Bowl or BCS Championship Game. UP1
Stanford Cardinal Stanford wrapped up their regular season in grand fashion absolutely pasting Oregon State, 38-0. Doesn't exactly inspire much confidence for the Beavers chances to upset Oregon, does it? Stanford's all but clinched an automatic qualifying spot in the BCS by finishing 4th in the standing. But where to? Next up: Orange, Fiesta, or Rose Bowl. UP1
Wisconsin Badgers In a contest never in doubt, Montee Ball did his usual touchdown scoring madness and the Badgers absolutely waxed (just)Northwestern 70-23. The Badgers complete a thoroughly impressive Big Ten run that saw them hit both 70 points and 80 points against jNWU and the Hoosiers (RIP Bill Lynch's head coaching career) respectively. Next up: Rose Bowl. UP1
Ohio State Buckeyes Beat that school from up north 37-7. A chance to get the SEC monkey off the school's back looms ominously with a probable date against either Arkansas or South Carolina likely after next weekend plays out. Next up: (Probably) Sugar Bowl. UP1
Michigan State Spartans While leading for virtually the entire afternoon, Sparty found their usual way to play this one close to the vest before closing out late, 28-22. Despite going 11-1, on the heels of getting absolutely waxed by a five-loss Iowa team, the Spartans would appear to be the odd team out of the 3-time tie at the top. Next up: (Probably) Capitol One Bowl. UP3
Nevada Wolf Pack In arguably college football's game of the year, Nevada didn't let a 24-7 deficit phase them as Colin Kaernick and co. rushed their way back into the contest before ultimately benefiting from some rough missed kicks by Boise and then prevailing, 34-31 (OT). While Boise very may well still be able to hang with any of the proverbial big dogs in the country, now we'll never know. Next up: (Probably) New Mexico Bowl. UP9
Boise State Broncos Lost to Nevada in truly gut wrenching fashion, 31-34 (OT). Shows how hard is to run the gauntlet undefeated regardless of where you play though does superficially live credence to small, insecure trolls with high paying titles and positions of relative influence sadly. Here's hoping the Broncos use their bowl as momentum to absolutely wax Georgia to open 2011. Next up: (Probably) Humanitarian Bowl. DOWN6
Arkansas Razorbacks In a game that seemed inevitable for oh, 3 months, Arkansas put together 4 good quarters of football and found a way to finally force LSU to regress to the mean, 31-23. Ryan Mallette and co. looked prime to allow LSU back into the thing with some inopportune turnovers, but the Razorbacks did just enough to put them in possible position for a BCS berth. Next up: Sugar or Capital One Bowl. UP2
Nebraska Cornhuskers In a Friday afternoon affair very few actually sat all the way through (raises hands uncomfortably) Bo Pelini and co. found a way to bounce back from the frustrations in Bryan-College Station and took down Colorado 45-17. The reward for Big Red's effort? The final Big XII championship where there'll surely be called for 47 penalties. Next up: Big XII Championship vs #13 Oklahoma, 8:00 PM. UP2
Missouri Tigers In the only national rivalry to involve mass murder, Missouri beat down Turner Gill's hapless Jayhawks, 35-7. Gary Pinkel and co. finish a somewhat surprisingly strong effort and appear to be headed to either the Alamo, Cotton, or Holiday Bowls. Next up: Bowl to be determined. UP3
Oklahoma Sooners In a thoroughly defensively paltry (though highly entertaining) contest, Oklahoma found a way to down plucky little brother Oklahoma State, 47-41. All Bob Stoops does is win huge conference games and divisional championships. Next up: Big XII Championship vs #11 Nebraska, 8:00 PM. UP3
Virginia Tech Hokies Welcomed Mike London back to the Virginia-Virginia Tech rivalry by extending the consecutive losses by the Cavs via an impressive 37-7 dismantling. The Hokies are one game away from a huge turn around following the disheartening (and frankly stunning) losses to open the season. Next up: ACC Championship vs #20 Florida State, 7:45 PM. --
Oklahoma State Cowboys While their offense was as game as ever, Bill Young's defense couldn't find a way to stop the Sooners late as the Cowboys fell to OU, 41-47. They're stuck in the same limbo as Missouri waiting to see which of the non-BCS bowls they'll be sent to. Next up: Bowl to be determined. DOWN7
LSU Tigers Arguably the most fortuitous team in the country, LSU's lack of competent offense finally bit them in the behind as they fell to Arkansas 23-31. They'll now likely face a hungry Big Ten team in what could be an intense (albeit low scoring) bowl affair. Next up: Bowl to be determined.  DOWN7
South Carolina Gamecocks In a game many (Kirk Herbstreit and yours truly amongst them) said had all the makings of the typical looking ahead/distracting/trap rivalry contests, South Carolina maintained full focus and manage to complete wax Clemson,  29-7. Now they'll have a shot in a rematch game to play their way into a BCS rematch of the famed 2002 Outback Bowl against the Bucks. Next up: SEC Championship Game vs #2 Auburn, 4:00 PM. UP1
Alabama Crimson Tide Despite taking an early 24-0 lead, couldn't hold on down the stretch as Kirby Smart and Nick Saban's defense seemingly lost their ability to contain Cam Newton and Auburn, falling 27-28. SEC ideologues will spit non-sense for the next 3 weeks that the 4th place team in the SEC West would win blah blah blah conference effortlessly; do your best not to vomit. Next up: Bowl to be determined. DOWN7
Texas A&M Aggies On a cold Thanksgiving night, Texas A&M found a way to dig deep and outlast a very game (albeit sloppy) rival Texas Longhorns side, 24-17. Cyrus Gray went absolutely bonkers accruing over 220 yards including two incredibly long TD strikes in the win. Next up: Bowl to be determined. --
Florida State Seminoles A near decade of frustrations culminated in an absolute frustrations taking out upon whipping of Florida, 31-7. Also courtesy of divisional rival Maryland, the Seminoles will have another game and a shot at playing their way into the BCS in the ACC Championship Game. Next up: ACC Championship Game vs #14 Virginia Tech, 7:45 PM. UP1
West Virginia Mountaineers Flashed the same defense that contained a tough Louisville offense a week back and completely embarrassed Pitt, 35-10. It's one thing to beat your rival, it's another to play their coach's way onto the hot seat. Still need help if they're to jump UConn and head to the BCS, however. Next up: vs Rutgers, 12:00. UP2
Utah Utes What better way to take down your most hated rival then on a blocked field goal in the waining moments of the contest? Utah did just that in taking down bYU, 17-16. A frustrating season by recent measures of success will culminate, perhaps in Las Vegas. Next up: Bowl to be determined. UP2
Mississippi State Bulldogs Wrapped up a marvelous season by Dan Mullen and co. by beating rival Mississippi 31-23 in the annual Egg Bowl. Despite a respectable job done by Sylvester Croom, Mullen's taking the ship to a whole other level with the Bulldogs finishing the season 8-4. Next up: Bowl to be determined. --
Northern Illinois Huskies Perhaps the most impressive non MWC/WAC side, Northern Illinois culminated the MAC season making Eastern Michigan look just the way they did against the Bucks, beating EMU, 71-3. Despite a great job done by head coach Jerry Ball, the Huskies will still have to take down a very game Miami University Redhawks team if they want to head back to Detroit as the MAC Champs in late December. Next up: MAC Championship vs Miami University, 7:00. --
Navy Midshipmen Bye Week. Next up: Bye Week, then vs Army, 12/11. --
Dropouts: NC State Wolfpack, Arizona Wildcats, Iowa Hawkeyes
