That's a tough one. I'm not sure I can get behind MSU losing. It's never fun to share a Big Ten title, but I don't think OSU would be in any danger from MSU jumping them should each team win out.

And then there's the universal love for Dantonio comes with being a Buckeye fan.

Matt's picture

I am actively rooting against MSU the rest of the season.  Sparty doesn'tt help our strength of schedule, but more importantly I do not want the Buckeyes to share the last non-championship game Big 10 title with anyone else.  My affection for Dantonio only goes so far, and so long as he's wearing the wrong colors on the sideline, he doesn't have Buckeyes best interests at heart.

Jason Priestas's picture

Sure. How much does that shared title in '02 bother you?

iball's picture

Yea, but doesn't Illini beating Sparty help our SOS?

Jason Priestas's picture

It does, but I don't believe we'll have to worry about SoS if we win out.

blazers34's picture

Im rooting for Illinios too.

Also, I think the UM game is intriguing as hell.  Have no clue what to expect, but Ill defer to Lee Corso (!) on that one.  Hes says Iowa by 10+

Brady's picture

Cosro saying Iowa by 10+ almost guarantees a nail biter at the end

Make that fourteen, and should have been seventeen or more.   (18 yard chipshot...your kicker is fail, Purdue.)

That Illinois defense is looking tough, very underrated

i didn't think a bob griese college football telecast could get any worse...then ESPN decided to pull spielman and pair griese with his douchebag wolverine son. FML.

BED's picture

Did you just hear his dick comment about going for two referencing Bielma's bullshit card excuse?  Come on Griese, you know football, down 21-9 it is advantageous to go for to, so a FG and TD XP tie it.  Up 35 or whatever, there's no reason.  Douche.

Besides Ohio State (of course), Illinois is the team I'm rooting for the hardest for today.

A) That beefs up our schedule and gives that Illinois win a little merit.

B) Eliminates any chance of the potential Ohio State/Michigan State both going unbeaten controversy.

An Illinois win is a win for us in multiple ways.

iball's picture

Agree, Im not rooting AGAINST Sparty, just rooting for best case scenario for OSU.

I agree as well.  It looks like MSU is starting to put things together though.

robbie hummel tore his ACL again this morning in practice, done for the year. bye purdue.

Matt's picture

Saw that, that's a terrible break for the kid.  He had NBA talent, and now its not clear if he's ever going to be healthy enough to make it to the next level.

ERIC OSU's picture

Yeah, hummel seems like a real good kid which makes it real unfortunate. Who knows if the kid can ever go out and play competitive basketball period again.

I'm just glad we dodged the Corso bullet.

RE: MGoBlog Kitty... animal cruelty!!! PETA!! PETA!! What barbarians! Just because you suck at football, doesn't mean you take it out on defensless kittens.

Boston College vs. Florida State is not satisfying my need to pass the time. Ugh, days like these are the longest.

Brady's picture

I hear ya' man.  Night games provide an awesome environment to play the game in but waiting all day Saturday is the worst.  I think I may have to crack a couple cold ones here pretty soon to help calm the nerves.

do you think rich is trying to send a toughen up message by not putting him back in?

Possibly, that or he already has accepted defeat so he's not going to risk more injuries.

Just got word from Camp Randall that Wisconsin's student section is chanting "f*ck you, eat sh*t".... Always classy in Madison

Nice.  Collective BAC is probably approaching Oktoberfest levels.
