The university just released the following statement regarding the Sports Illustrated article that alleged Santonio Holmes was receiving money from an agent while at Ohio State:

The Ohio State University Department of Athletics has investigated allegations regarding the Sports Illustrated article mentioning former student-athlete Santonio Holmes. During an interview on Wednesday, Holmes stated he never received money or benefits from an agent. The institution has contacted the Agents, Gambling and Amateurism staff at the NCAA, and the NCAA has stated it does not intend to investigate anything further related to the allegations in the Sports Illustrated article based on the information that has been reported. The Ohio State University considers this matter closed.

While the allegation was troubling, it comes well after the NCAA's four year statute of limitations on such matters.

Non-Denial-Denial + Outside Statute of Limitation = Problem solved.

I, for one, welcome our new coaching overlords.

I imagine we'll be hearing more about false allegations now that we've moved up to #1.
