No surprise at all here, but Tressel confirmed his efforts in helping Maurice Clarett get back into Ohio State. When asked if he believed in the concept of "once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye", he had the following to say:
"Oh absolutely. Anytime someone is part of your life, even if it doesn’t go well, when you try to get it squared away, you’ve got to continue to be there for him. That’s just the way we do things."
Six years after Clarett tossed Ohio State under a bus, alleging grade-fixing, Doc Tressel as faux-job finder, and a booster bonanza that would have made Logan Young Jr. blush, his former coach, and the man that stood the most to lose from those accusations, turned the other cheek.
