KigeBOMBKige thinks your team has no chance.
Start: 6:00PM ET
Television: CBS

The mission, of course, becomes Getting Back to Indy, but there are some things to settle. Among them:

Which one seed will the Buckeyes draw? With Duke and West Virginia winning their conference tourneys, you have to think the Buckeyes' odds of getting a one seed is around 2% (despite the insane finish and the team's sterling record with a healthy ET in the lineup). Assuming they get a two, who will they get paired up with? Syracuse looks vulnerable and the chance to beat down Duke is appetizing.

How many Big Ten teams will make the field? Four are definitely in: Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan State and Wisconsin. But what about Minnesota and Illinois? Is there room for one? Both?

Do you have what it takes to emerge on top? Don't forget to fill out your bracket in the 11W Tournament Challenge. Bragging rights and an awesome 1960s Championship Box Set from Homage are on the line.

Jason on 14 March 2010 - 7:05pm.

Well, Vitale is loving that Duke pick at least.

Shad on 14 March 2010 - 7:08pm.

As long as we don't end up in the same bracket with Kansas, I like our chances.

Ds on 14 March 2010 - 7:09pm.

Prob goin out west w Syracuse

Jason on 14 March 2010 - 7:11pm.

In with Kansas? WTF

vidstudent on 14 March 2010 - 7:13pm.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO[/Skywalker]

Jason on 14 March 2010 - 7:15pm.

The Midwest regional is burly: Kansas, Michigan State, Maryland, Georgeown, Tennessee, Oklahoma State.

That's not including the Bobcats!

ERIC OSU on 14 March 2010 - 7:16pm.

Wow, I just cant understand that. If they were putting us there bcuz were close to Milwaukee thats BS, Im more willing to go out to the West and play Syracuse.

TlLB on 14 March 2010 - 7:17pm.

Screwed

Dean on 14 March 2010 - 7:17pm.

Yeah that's a serious bracket. I can't imagine the others will look quite so scary.

TlLB on 14 March 2010 - 7:21pm.

Looks like SEC quota is in effect

Chris on 14 March 2010 - 7:22pm.

Relax everyone...Sure, it's tough being in the same bracket as Kansas but I like the path to the elite eight. Everyone scared of georgetown or something? They are decent and Monroe presents a challenge but, again, I think we're fine.

Chris on 14 March 2010 - 7:23pm.

I look at some of those schools as big names but moreso on history than this year's version of themselves. Sparty is down, Maryland is a one man show, G-Town is tough and Tennessee could easily be upset early.

ERIC OSU on 14 March 2010 - 7:23pm.

I think it actually sets up very nicely for us to get to the Elite 8, and as the old adage goes, you gotta beat the best to be the best. Heck, maybe Michigan State wants to do us a favor and knock out Kansas haha

corey on 14 March 2010 - 7:26pm.

A lot of stock in RPI rankings, Bucks have lowest of the 2 seeds, but I agree with Chris, like the path to Elite 8.

Dean on 14 March 2010 - 7:28pm.

Georgetown looked pretty strong in the Big East tourney, as long as Freeman can stay healthy they'll be a tough opponent.

Olentangy on 14 March 2010 - 7:31pm.

Everyone is jumping to conclusions about this bracket. The year we made it to the final game we had to play a better Geoprgetown team than this one. Even Kansas is beatable, I have watched a lot of their games and they let everyone hang around until about 5 min left in the game.

TlLB on 14 March 2010 - 7:32pm.

Purdue better not get this 2seed

Chris on 14 March 2010 - 7:32pm.

Agreed. They are playing well at the right time. Still a beatable team. They don't have the size they've brought to tourney in past years. That's a plus for us, I think. Their body of work shows some double digit losses (@Syr, ND, @WVU) and some bad losses (USF, Rutgers). I think our Tenacious D will be more than they can handle. Time will tell. Hell, both teams have to get that far first!

DJ on 14 March 2010 - 7:34pm.

This whole bracket is a joke so far. How is OSU NOT out west??? If Kansas is #1 overall, how is OSU #8? They are easily 6 or 7, better than K-State definitely. Not impressed with East and West brackets either.

Chris on 14 March 2010 - 7:35pm.

Haha...a 4 and they get Siena. look out!

is it Saturday yet? on 14 March 2010 - 7:37pm.

hehehehe

Olentangy on 14 March 2010 - 7:41pm.

I'd rather play Georgetown rather than Baylor. Baylor has a bunch of talented big guys that I think we would struggle to defend. Georgetown is a better matchup.

Dean on 14 March 2010 - 7:42pm.

Too bad about the illini - I thought they looked deserving (though I'm sure the Bucks won't shed too many tears over that given the contentious game yesterday).

I do think the RPI is given too much weight - we're probably considered the lowest #2 because of that, but if you were to recalculate our RPI without the games Turner was missing, our RPI would be much better. Oh, well. As they said, you gotta beat the best to be the best. Time to work on my picks!

Chris on 14 March 2010 - 7:43pm.

No question we're in toughest bracket 1-3seed speaking...

Midwest: Kansas, OSU, G-Town
West: Syracuse, K-State, Pitt
East: UK, WVU, New Mexico
South: Duke, Villanova, Baylor

TlLB on 14 March 2010 - 7:43pm.

We should be where villanova is

Charlie on 14 March 2010 - 7:44pm.

does anyone realize gtown has a greg monroe? the prototype finesse center who plays entirely in the high post? aka the ultimate kryptonite of dallas? he's like jajuan johnson on roids w/ better passing skills. lauderdale will be destroyed by monroe!!!!!

Chris on 14 March 2010 - 7:44pm.

My guess is Thad will play this up as a huge slight and we'll come out with our pants on fire next weekend.

DJ on 14 March 2010 - 7:48pm.

O and Duke has the easiest bracket by far. Nova as a 2, the way they finished? Unbelievable.

TlLB on 14 March 2010 - 7:48pm.

Hey Charlie. Grown was 8 seed in big least. Tourney they got a gift here

Matt on 14 March 2010 - 7:50pm.

Just out of curiosity...but is being given the first 2 seed a sign of respect? I doubt it, but do the two-seeds run the same way, where Kansas was the first among the first seeds, and we were the first among two seeds? To me, it just looks like a screw job. That said, we do match up well with some of the teams in the conference. We can play against guard-based teams, we struggle against the bigs.

Dean on 14 March 2010 - 7:51pm.

My guess would be that Kansas, getting the top overall seed, gets to face the lowest 2-seed, which, being the weakest 2 seed, faces the strongest 3 seed, and so on, but that's just a guess.

charlotte buckeye on 14 March 2010 - 7:53pm.

The midwest is absolutely loaded! The two teams, I really didn't want to end up playing were Kansas and Gtown and they both end up in our bracket!!!

The national love for Duke has got to stop. They have a cake walk of a draw compared to others.

Oh well, you never know who will show up. We still have the best player in the country, so we have that advantage against anyone we play! GO BUCKS!

Nik on 14 March 2010 - 7:54pm.

Dean's right, it snakes, where last 1 plays first 2, plays last 3, plays first 4, etc

Chris on 14 March 2010 - 8:01pm.

Very likely that will happen but I don't think means OSU definitely loses. We do have that Turner guy. I like how we match up outside of Dallas/Monroe.

Charlie on 14 March 2010 - 8:03pm.

they played the toughest schedule IN THE COUNTRY. they have been battle tested thru everything. they were one shot away from winning the toughest conference IN THE COUNTRY. you're crazy if you think that's a good matchup. greg monroe will destroy dallas. what makes you think this is a favorable matchup??!?!

TlLB on 14 March 2010 - 8:08pm.

Evans Turner. POY = favorable matchup. Now go away

charlotte buckeye on 14 March 2010 - 8:08pm.

I agree with Charlie. As I stated below, I didn't want to match up with Gtown or Kansas. I just can't believe you have the Big 12 champion, two of the Big 10 co-champs, the ACC co-champ, and the Big East tourney runner up all in the same region!!!???

Charlie on 14 March 2010 - 8:10pm.

evan turner can carry us against minnesota, illinois etc. not against gtown.

JakeBuckeye on 14 March 2010 - 8:14pm.

Evan can carry us against anyone.

Matt on 14 March 2010 - 8:15pm.

well now i'm really pissed then

Dean on 14 March 2010 - 8:21pm.

Also - Gtown's seed was based solely on their record, which included a bunch of late-season losses as their leading scorer, Austin Freeman, was sick for a couple weeks and ultimately diagnosed with diabetes. He's back, and as long as he can stay healthy, they'll be a very tough opponent, possibly deserving of a 2 seed.

Luke on 14 March 2010 - 8:28pm.

I think both Georgia Tech and Georgetown present potential matchup problems. But, you gotta beat the best to be the best. Bottoms up.

Chip on 14 March 2010 - 8:46pm.

I see Aldrich getting his against us big time, Lauderdale fouls out but we still win by taking away the rest of their team.

It is the matchup I was most afraid of but we can kill them in transition too b4 big boy gets down the court.

jbeveridge on 14 March 2010 - 8:54pm.

how does Duke get Nova and Baylor neither team deserves there seed. Hell WVU should have been a one seed before Duke. I could understand WVU getting the best draw for a two seed but Nova has nothing over us, there best player is a midget. Also Gtown should have been a two seed before Nova this pissses me off to get the best 1 and 3 seed how is that possible. I really liked how the Bucks improved over this year and then get by far the worst draw, i am sickened

Bup bup bup on 14 March 2010 - 8:57pm.

I don't see us beating gtown unless something crazy happens. let's be honest, even with the best player in the country, we essentially go 4 deep and teams are just going to run at us constantly. after the big 10 tourney and 2 rounds I don't know if we'll have the legs to pull it off

I do think that this year were gonna see sone crazy upsets though

Bup bup bup on 14 March 2010 - 9:06pm.

also congrats to villanova on making the elite 8

jbeveridge on 14 March 2010 - 9:14pm.

Duke has gotten the easiest draw by a mile Nova, Baylor and Purdue seriously it makes no sense

Tom Collins on 14 March 2010 - 9:14pm.

Doh!

Tom Collins on 14 March 2010 - 9:17pm.

Duke still won't make the Elite 8.

Tom Collins on 14 March 2010 - 9:18pm.

Wait, I meant Kentucky.

Dean on 14 March 2010 - 9:23pm.

not to mention that both teams that beat kansas this year miraculously turned up in their region. That's gotta be annoying.

Chip on 14 March 2010 - 9:44pm.

tOSU fans must lead the league in conspiracy theories. Gtown is going down it won't be close they lost to Rutgers for god's sake. We are too good this year to not get to Indy.

If the Villian takes us to Indy I say he is better than JJ

LAbuckeyefan on 14 March 2010 - 10:14pm.

Interesting setup. Really tough. I'm a Buckeye fan and I went to school at Kansas so I'm really conflicted on this one. The Buckeyes have to worry about getting past Georgetown before they worry about Kansas. I can see that happening...don't like Gtown that much. I have watched Kansas a lot this year, along with the Buckeyes, and they are TOUGH. Their depth alone is going to kill a lot of teams; it beat K-State three times and K-State is a team that I see going to the final four. I was worried about OSU's depth but they have proved me wrong these past couple of games. If OSU goes up against Kansas, it's going to be tough for me! I remember a couple of years back when Kansas came to Columbus and the Buckeyes game them a great game. I was in the Schott with my Kansas shirt on. It was the worst!

me on 14 March 2010 - 10:44pm.

Siena is a favorite. I repeat, Siena is a favorite.

JakeBuckeye on 14 March 2010 - 10:56pm.

You guys have it all wrong. All of you guys are talking about how the world is going to end when we face up against G-Town or Kansas, we need to focus in on our first round match up.

Let's talk about UC Santa Barbara, shall we?

One game at a time...

Tom Collins on 14 March 2010 - 11:58pm.

LOL.

Bup bup bup on 15 March 2010 - 12:01am.

I actually am kind of worried about the 2nd round game, either of those teams could give us fits

Charlie on 15 March 2010 - 12:03am.

i felt the need to repost this comment... it seemed appropriate and i think we all need a dash of comic relief/optimism b/c all of us [myself included] are a bit down w/ our seeding selection. hopefully "no way" can man up and apologize for his obviously false comment. until then, enjoy your crow compliments of THE VILLAIN and buon appetito "no way"!

no way says:
03/08/2010 at 9:36am

No way a BTT Championship is coming the Buckeyes way when they play all starters 40 min a game and would have to play 3 straight days. Way to work on the bench players over the season, Matta!!

Matt on 15 March 2010 - 12:17am.

From The Villain's Twitter:

"Thought the bus ride home would be peaceful but then kyle madsen had to throw up!"

Matt on 15 March 2010 - 12:18am.

And this from Titus:

"2nd inside info tweet of day: Kyle Madsen barfed all over the bus floor. Also, The Villain is listening to Lady Gaga. I can't make this up."

Bup bup bup on 15 March 2010 - 12:24am.

this is the most pub madsen has ever gotten

Matt on 15 March 2010 - 12:28am.

is it just me, or does every marginally athletic white, non-foreign big-man for the buckeyes look exactly the same? (see, e.g., the sylvester-terwilliger-madsen triumvirate)

JakeBuckeye on 15 March 2010 - 12:31am.

2nd round? Huh? We're playing in the first round on Friday.
