Jimmy D approves.Congratulations to the Iowa Hawkeyes, who, along with Penn State, Wisconsin and Ohio State, helped push the Big Ten to a 4-3 bowl record after suffering through a 1-6 stretch last season.
The four teams posted wins over four other teams ranked in the top 15 (including a 2-0 mark in BCS games) and for the first time in quite a while, Rust Belt football fans have something to be proud about heading into the long offseason.
Looking ahead, both the Hawkeyes and Buckeyes appear to be stacked heading into 2010, but for tonight at least, let it all out and enjoy this little bit of redemption.

HOW ARE WE GOING TO CELEBRATE?!??!?!
WE'RE GONNA NEED A MONTAGE.

Nice!
Look, I understand, as a Gator, that things have not been all that bright in your neck of the woods. Separating yourselves from the big east and the acc is not very becoming. 4 and 3 is certainly an improvement from your ugly past, but jesus, act like you been there before. have you no shame?
Why, as a Gator, are you on a Buckeye sports blog?
I'm not sure how you, as a Gator, took Tebow's penis out of your hands for long enough to type that.
yeah seriously...what the hell is wrong with showing some pride for your conference? If there's any conference that's continually puffing out their chest over nothing, it's the SEC...
I've seen and read more than enough SEC pumping from blogs of that conference during bowl season.
eat shit. have fun in the outback bowl next year
God Bless The B10 ,,,I wish Iowa had more point`s but I`ll take it . We had a great year!!!Hopefully Texas embarrasses Bama back to the days that they were getting beat by directional schools from Louisiana !!!
I had to fight back. We are Bigger and Tenner than you, especially you, Small Equipment Conference.
Go f*** yourself. You don't "understand" sh*t.
So great for the Big 10 to go 2-0 in BCS bowls. It proves that we are a formidable conference with fight to be the top conferecnce. In other words, fuck the SEC! 4-3 means we are a force to be reckoned with. The Buckeyes will definitely go 12-0 next year but the national championship is up in the air, to be fair. Whatever, good luck Bucks next season, and go Big Ten!!!
First of all, don't feed a Gayturd troll. Let them enjoy their really big win over the powerhouse Cincinatti Bearcats and let them bask in the glory that is their 12 year old history. They understand that soon enough they will once again be THE doormat in a league full of doormats.
Secondly, nice win Hawkeyes. The Big Ten will be much tougher to win next year, with road trip to both Iowa and Wisconsin. But hey, if I wanted easy wins, I'd play Florida's schedule.
Oops! I done went and feed me a troll!
As a Gator Hater, let's see where your Gators are next year!
Miami, LSU, Oregon and Ga Tech...all got DOMINATED. Auburn couldn't stop NORTHWESTERN. Here is the difference...The Bucks, Wisky, Penn St. and Iowa all did one thing...They ran at speed and mixed in the pass very well. How much spread did we see from these 4 teams in these games? Very little. In the past we tried too much to be like everyone else instead of playing Big Ten football. We punched all these teams in the nose and they had no answer.
The Big Ten is back playing our brand of football and it is still very dominating.
Left out great defense.
Why's there a picture of Drew Carey's brother from the Drew Carey Show up there? J/W.
Also, WOOOOOOOOOOOO
... and Northwestern and Minny should have won their games.... that would have been 6-1........... but a great showing by the Big-11------ Strong D, a fast start, and controlling the clock are the formula to beat teams in the top-25. I cannot wait to decimate the Hurricanes at the 'Shoe next year and shut these damn Canes fans up (again).
The Big Ten's domination reminds me of another domination from our generation... John Matrix

First: yes yes yes this was a fun bowl season for the Big 10.
Second: please show some civility to the Gator troll. The amount of crap that I have to take from your typical slack jawed mouth breathing sister violating SEC fan requires kindness, like one gives to a syphilitic stray dog (that we eventually have to put down). Besides, his post was written in complete sentences.
Third (off topic): was listening to Arkansas sports radio (insert joke here) yesterday and the general consensus is that Arkansas should offer the basketball head coaching job to Tubby Smith. The assumption being that anyone would JUMP at the opportunity to coach SEC basketball because, well, it is the SEC. And who wouldn't want to move from Minneapolis to Fayetteville, AR (just north of Smackover, AR).
God, I want to move home.
Didn't Florida only separate themselves from the Big East? I mean 2-0 against the ACC, 1-1 against the SEC, and 1-0 against the Pac 10. That's not so bad.
If MSU didn't have 14 suspended players and Northwestern's kicker hadn't missed 2 (3?) field goals, 4-3 could have easily been 6-1.
I really enjoyed when Michigan kicked your sorry arse in the champion of losers bowl game -- the same Michigan team that lost at home to Appilacian State mind you.
Not to mention the fact that Minny fumbled the ball away when they were in ISU territory late in the game trailing by only 1 point. Even with 14 starters gone, MSU led TTech 31-27 with 8 minutes left in the game. 7-0 was entirely possible.
Any Minny only lost by 1, so the Big10 did quite well for itself. Beat 4 top 15 teams. SEC has always been very top heavy.
Please dont disturb my friend, he is VERRRY tired
let off some steam bennett
I thought it was the slow guy from the office
"women be shoppin"
I'm pretty sure its the Special Education Conference, as any oxygen-breathing organism will be accepted too attend these "universities", save Vanderbilt.
Another fact for that ass:
the Big 10 is the only conference in the country with four teams with double-digit wins.
*side note* SEC=2, Big 12=2, ACC=2, Big East=2, Pac-10=1, MWC=3?
Wait a minute, if I remember correctly, isn't that what set off the whole, "the SEC is the toughest conference in the world" talk back in '06? You know, the year Urban Meyer was crying about how hard it was to play in the SEC and that they deserved to play for the NC (not Michigan), despite losing to Auburn.
To put it in perspective, when the SEC had four teams with double-digit wins in the same season, FL, being one of them, only managed to beat two of the other three, while the Buckeyes beat all three of the other four this year.
Pretty impressive.
So, for at least the next two seasons or so, the Big 10 will now be known as the "toughest conference."
Sorry SEC. Ya blew it.
Damn straight! And not only that, but EVERY SINGLE SEC TEAM PLAYS A 1AA OPPONENT, and some played TWO! Not getting to double digit wins in that conference is a joke.
I like pretzels, but I REALLY like chips.
Anybody else find it odd that neither PTI nor Around the Horn made a single mention about OSU winning the Rose Bowl?
the nouveau riche explaining how to act in polite society is comical.
stick around
because wilbon is a tool
Kyle, you have read my mind! I watched Around the Horn on Monday just to see what they had to say and they said nothing. But if we would have lost, they would have been all over us. My fiance watches PTI everyday and she was pissed more than I was! Gotta love it! Once again, us against the world! Were like 2Pac!
NFL rules all... especially after the 1st
You're a funny guy Sally. I like you. That's why I am going to kill you last!
Well It's funny how everyone will pick Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio State, and Penn State to lose, then they pull off their bowls and it's totally ignored. I think it's time for the ACC to get trashed all the time. FSU has sucked for a while. Miami is decent this year. Ga Tech and Clemson were better than normal. Va Tech is probably the best team in the conference but they slipped up too. That conference has won what, 2 BCS games?
Great bowl season by the BT. If you "score" the quality of victories by the BT, and don't just go by straight wins/losses (4-3 for the BT), the BT's bowl season was that much more impressive.
Off topic: Sharif Floyd wrote on SI.com, "I'm down to four schools -- Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina and South Carolina. I told a few of them [all-star teammates in San Antonio] my decision. A couple were surprised, but they could tell that I fell in love with the place. They know that this school, well, it's a program that will stand the test of time." Don't want to jinx it, but by process of elimination, sounds like Ohio State. If he picked Fla, that probably wouldn't have surprised his teammates, while neither UNC nor South Carolina are anywhere close to standing the test of time.
See: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.c....
I really think it's going to be Ohio State. He also wore the OSU hat in an interview with SI or someone like that.
On CNATI.com again today C Trent gave props to the Big 10. Nice to see him giving love to the Buckeyes the other day now the Big 10. It's not easy for a Dawg fan I'm sure.

I was just on Rivals though and it looks like Florida has made a big push. The guy writintg the article says he's going with Ohio State but it's too close to call. He also said Anderson may make his selection this weekend and if he does it will be West Virginia!
According to Stoneburner's twitter, looks as if Lamaar Thomas is gone.
http://twitter.com/JStoney11
Do you think that could mean Hines though?
All signs are pointing towards Hines staying though.
If you look at Hines' twitter he mentions he GUESSES he'll go to class. He's not worried about his grade, and He's got some classes to drop.
It's definitely Thomas. Pryor asked Stoneburner "Whens flash leaving" and he got the reply "few days." All via twitter. Pryor protects his tweets though, so no use linking it.
