The Big Ten Network released an excellent video feature on The Villain's Chicago roots. Most of you are probably already aware of the fact that he went to prep hoops power St. Joe's (see Isiah Thomas and Hoop Dreams), but the feature covers the neighborhood he grew up in, his barbershop, how he bought his first trophy and other gems.
It's a fantastic look at the background of a guy that is completely owning the court this season and now projects as a top two or three draft pick should he bolt (he will).

That's really great stuff, and it makes you wonder whether losing in the first round of the NCAA tourney was really a blessing in disguise; We may have gone 2 or 3 games deeper, ET woulda shown off his skillset and likely played his way into the lottery in a weak draft. Now he comes back, and could be the top pick in the draft, depending on team need. A class act and one of Matta's best gets yet.
pretty cool profile of him, always thought Evan had an interesting voice.. yeah i know thats weird but whatever...
Just pray he doesn't end up in New Jersey.
He's going to Minny, gonna be like Kobe in the Triangle.
why, he would be a good compliment to Lebron!
*ducks*
Rotal + Velveeta = Queso
go to rotel.com for more 10 minute meal recipes
ROTEL!
You might as well just cut out the middleman, heat that stuff up, and then dump it right into the toilet, rather than eat it and wait 30 minutes for that to happen. BUT ITS SO GWOOD.
most of the rotel website recipes sound like normal tex-mex crap. no harm, no foul. but that recipe they use in the commercial with pasta, brocolli, rotel, and velveeta...vile. who eats that combination of food?

Agreed. Who does he sound like, I can't pinpoint it?

I find that Pace salsa makes a much better queso than Rotel. Rotel is really watery. Just taste the rotel out of the can and taste pace salsa out of the jar...no contest
Don't forget about this -

I thought I read that he was severely injured as a small child and needed significant speech therapy or something to that effect....maybe somebody else can elaborate.
He seems like a good guy. We are so lucky to have ball players like him. I know I'm biased, but it seems like we have had so many class acts lately...Oden, Beanie, Turner, Titus, Laurinitis, etc.... It's like Archie set a tone
I was thinking who Turner plays like today and it hit me Scottie Pippen. Which is pretty obvious if you remember he's from Chi-town.
I still don't think he's better then JJ yet but if he gets a 3 point jumper...forget about it!
that's funny +1
Actually, to stay on point about Evan Turner; Why do all these comments digress to another topic. Please stick to the point people, we don't care about salsa and cheese.
Anyway, in an article it clearly stated that Evan had a severe speech impediment when he was very young and worked very hard to be able to overcome that, so it is really wrong of you to point out something he is probable really sensitive about. But of course you all a probably perfect or have a talent as great as his? Maybe? Maybeeee NOT!!
By the way, Turner was a lottery pick--last year, and decided to stay to finish up some business at OSU. He kept his word to come back and ended up getting hurt. By the grace of God that injury was only a temporary setback.
Keep up the great work Turner, we need you to have your best game yet.
