I am against the round-robin. If anything, we should subtract a conference game so that we can make room for an extra game. The extra game is necessary so that the Big Ten can utilize my idea of a 4-team playoff for the conference championship. Think big!

I love how after the game everyone on MGoBlog is torn between crying about how horrible it was that there were so many OSU fans there, pretending that they don't care about the rivalry (while crying about how their fans sold out to the rivals and after they just fired a championship winning coach because he couldn't beat OSU?), and trying to convince themselves that they had real progress this season because "they almost won the game, if it weren't for all those turnovers."

Oh I agree completely that they *should* do a round Robin, and probably require scheduling real teams out of conference as well. But it really makes no sense from a financial standpoint for the conference or the universities.

I guess in today's college football money is all that matters, but I think it really is a better solution than adding a team and having a conference championship game, another ploy to make more money for the conference. How many times does a conference championship game really put the top 2 teams against eachother? And just having Co-champs is kind of dumb too. The problem with Co-champ and not playing is that if Ohio State didn't play Iowa or Wisconsin and they ended up with one loss the bid would go to Iowa for the Rose bowl because they hadn't been there in a longer amount of time. I just hate how it's set up.

It kills them in the BCS, and loses them money.

1/2 of the teams in the PAC-10 have one more loss than they would otherwise. It is one less chance for an out of conference creampuff to pad the schedule, or a respectable out of conference game, to get a little more respect.

But the extra losses in conference significantly hurt the chance of a second PAC-10 team getting into the BCS at large, and have hurt their bowl revenue significantly the last few years.
