Your Fifth Saturday of Football Afternoon Open Thread
Michigan State/Michigan at noon and LSU/Georgia at 3:30 should get the juices going for this eveningLuke previewed the action earlier in the week, but if you’re new to the drill, you’ll be wearing green around lunchtime before changing into your scarlet (or gray) for the main event later tonight.
Feel free to weigh in on Dantonio’s scowl index, the dominating Wolverine defense or anything else that strikes your fancy.

LaMarcus Joyner balls out in 1 versu 2 game. 93 yard kickoff return. Do want.

Urban Meyer on the sidelines, with bob stoops and Greg schiano in the stands, wow.
Yeah, I wonder who we had there?
I see Michigan getting upset by MSU today…and if “Little Brother” beats them after starting off 1-3, all hell will break loose in TSUN.
Me likey.
Its funny how a 4 and 0 start can make being 7 and 5, unacceptable.
Would it really be an upset?
Think the line was MSU -3.5 at kickoff.
Won’t be able to catch the game, no B10 network here, out and about but I will try Justintv…met a former marching band (TBDBITL) member at breakfast today, so that was cool…
PARTY LIKE A BUCKEYE…PARTY LIKE A BUCKEYE
Both Wisc vs. Minn and scUM vs. MSU are pretty damn good games so far. Awesome.
what is the view like from the “d” deck. i was not even aware that there was such a deck until i tried to buy tickets recently. is it worth the ungodly sum they are asking on stubhub?
there’s no bad seat in ohio stadium my friend…..unless your behind a pillar i guess
I think the “D” is a bit of a misnomer in the sense that it’s not actually above C deck. The seats in D are actually below those in C on the west side of the stadium – almost inline with the camera deck under the press box. The good news is that they’re covered, so for bad weather, they’re not bad seats at all.
Had a chance to pick D deck up for the USC game but pass and went with 14c which I thought were great seats for the money.
excellent info. thanks!
Did I just see Lou Hotlz asleep on the couch next to Mark May, and now he’s going to join Reese and Mark later. I know he was at least leaning against May
We are seeing what happens when Michigan plays against a team with some defense..
Amen. I sure am glad we have our dinosaur schematic advantage. This UM running game is unstoppable.
Mesko FTL. Brilliant play call.
Our opponent tonight gave up 6 times as many points to these guys as a Sparty team that lost to CMU.
As much as we “need” Michigan to be good again, it’s still really fun watching them look this bad.
I’m thinking TTUN made Indiana look a whole lot better than they are… We’ll see?
Wow Corso didn’t look good this morning. Apparently he is recovering from a stroke. This per ESPNFeedback Twitter, which claims he’s as courageous as the BC player fighting cancer. I think I disagree with the last part, but he’s certainly toughing it out while he’s on stage.
yeah, i heard about the stroke awhile back. i think it was in march or something. said he had to work really hard to get back at all. i think we’ll be seeing less and less of him, which is unforutnate because he is passionate and entertaining.
Damn it Sparty! Don’t do this again!
I have a feeling that some of these plays Michigan runs are drawn up in the sand, and the coaches just shrug at each other like, “it MIGHT work?”
This is just classic, classic Sparty.
Don’t forget the luck of scUM, how many holds were there on that last drive? How was that a roughing the passer?
Wow. Little Brother gets punked again.
Guess we could hope for a Sparty OT miracle, but Tate is owning them. Speaking of Forcier, I really, really hate to admit this, but he’s going to be pretty good. And soon.
i see flashes out of tate, and for a freshman he’s doing fairly well, but i also think he’s going to get absolutely destroyed over the course of a big ten season (tate got sacked 4 times today). he’s also not that good yet, barely making over 50% of your passes and a crappy INT in overtime does not a good QB make
HELL YES
There we go. Don’t shit the bed now Sparty, this one’s yours.
Tried to on that first down pitch.
Little Brother!!!
GAME
Thank God.
Heart attack city, but some of Tressel’s Michigan mojo must have rubbed off on Dantonio.
To be fair we probably wanted an undefeated UM for our strength of schedule and the outside shot at the national title berth if our D continues to pitch shut outs, but I can’t help but love it when Sparty beats UM.
does this quiet down the hounds of returning arrogance for a few weeks?
Probably not, I was on MGoBlog’s live blog and I am fairly certain that most of the commenters were masturbating to the thought and sight of Forcier. All the talk will be about how while they lost, their QB is THE MOST CLUTCH EVER. Their Great White Hope gives them hope, but I’m very interested to see whether Iowa’s defense decapitates Tate next week. Even money says he gets knocked out of that game before the 4th quarter starts, he’s too reckless of a guy his size.
He definitely has some magic in him, but he’s going to have a hard time surviving the season. This year, at least.
The Broadcasters don’t seem to be quieted either. I just heard Gerry Dinardo say that it was Forcier’s “First” mistake. Really, Gerry?
I’ve never seen an offense stumble, bobble, fumble and hobble their way through drives. Forcier is no exception; he barfs up dying birds every time he’s about to get sacked (which is often). Many of the big plays he makes are the result of of horrible pass coverage by cruddy opponents combined with pure luck. The luck finally favored the opponent on that last one.
Forcier looked HORRIBLE that last couple plays in the 4th quarter, including his lucky TD pass. That kid was about to pass out from, look out, playing a few plays. He’s always visibly pained and has the most sissy body language, it blows my mind how the scUM fans can get behind such a little sap. It’s likely a mix between their desperateness to finally win more than 3 games in a season, and the fact that their m!ch!g@n fans.
Tools.
he looked horrible because he is horrible. calista is a bitch!
Anyone aware of a dependable BTN streaming site? Really not inclined to head to the alumni bar today.
Yes – go to The Buckeye Battle Cry…there’s brief directions on how to see it live today.

Jeff–you are an officer and a gentleman, richard gere to my debra winger.
Nice to see that Ted Ginn Jr. was at the Aquinas game as well. Let’s hope Cris Carter and Ginn talk some sense into Joyner.

Someone can tell me if I’m wrong here, but I think it’s illegal for former players to have contact with recruits.
I’m sure the NCAA will make an exception if Carter’s his freaking coach.
As far as Ginn, I didn’t see anything suggesting they actually talked. I know Reggie Bush apparently texted Joe McKnight before he committed to USC
meant to add: and of course, nothing came of it
