Hey all. Ran across a fledgling Buckeye Blog. So very good stuff so far (only three entries to date)… long detailed articles; two on our use of — or lack thereof — tailbacks in our offense. let’s give him some traffic and encouragement.
Jason, this is rediculous. I emailed you earlier this week requesting some recognition for some of our other athletes who recieved Big Ten honors this week. You know, people who actually attend our college? You told me you didn’t have the ‘resources’ to cover other sports, and then in the same week you post this. You have enough ‘resources’ to repost twitter B.S. but not to look at the Ohio State Athletics site and post Big Ten Player of the Week reports?
And I’m sorry, but I really can’t see us covering OSU women’s volleyball anytime soon no matter how hard you protest. Like you said, you have the official university site to get that information.
As I said, I’m not asking for coverage, I was only asking for 1 post to recognize OTHER Buckeye athletes. It doesn’t even need to be anything special, just something where fans of your site can give kudos to sports other than the big 2.
When a Buckeye wins a Big Ten award, its a big deal, and should be treated as such!
So Seth, do you want 11W to include them because you want to objectify the tall beautiful women, or because they deserve recognition for their awards? Pick a side, we’re at war.
And I side with Jason on this, if I wanted to read about womens volleyball, I’d go to the OSU athletics site.
Honestly, what I’d like to see is a single post at the beginning of the week for any and all OSU athletes or teams who win a League or National honor. It just so happens that this week, a player from the Women’s Volleyball team won Big Ten offensive player of the week honors. I suggested that this be recognized, and Jason replied that there weren’t enough resources to do that. In the time and effort it took to argue over the suggestion, a simple post could have been made for all to throw down some Kudos. Again, this isn’t exclusive to just Women’s Volleyball, but it was the start of the idea/argument.
I completely understand 11W not having the resources to follow 34 other varsity sports, or even a couple additional beyond football and basketball, they must sink a ton of time into what they’re doing now.
However I think that what makes Ohio State’s athletic department far superior than any other in the country is that we have 36 varsity sports!!! That’s amazing and something we should all be very proud of.
Seth I have an idea, why don’t you offer to write the post and submit it to the site? If it is that important then you take the time and effort. If you don’t want to take the timeor effort then shut up.
It’s one thing to miss an occasional women’s volleyball story. What I find really frustrating is that there has been absolutely no coverage of Coach Sweeny landing top recruit Gary “Blake” Reburn.
There is no question this kid is going to have a huge impact over the next four years.
It also goes to show that Sweeny’s recruiting efforts are finally starting to pay off and he’s not only bringing in the Ohio kids, he’s picking up the top talent from out of state.
No question, the 2009-2010 Pistol team will be unstoppable.
You have enough resources to provide content that others “borrow” but not enough to look at the Ohio State Athletics site and cover Pistol Team Recruiting?
11w participates in the “blogpoll” – so, at least they consider the site to be at least near the realm of blog. but, that was not really my point. i was just joining in the cacophony of discontent. my heart, alas, was not really in it.
i beg your pardon. a bag of doritos is tremendousier anywhere! you would be disappointed with doritos in a chair? how about in a bus? or on a picnic? or in JT’s office. and so forth. now, a nacho cheesier snack without beer, water, or soda is a crime against your poor salt parched palette.
you know…the intention was there, but then lazy set in. story of my life. in penance, i shall produce a version of the whitman poem that levi’s bastardizes to sell some denim:
COME my orange-faced chip consumers,
Follow well in order, get your mandibles ready,
Have you your nacho cheesier? have you your cooler ranch?
Doritos! O doritos!
For we cannot crunch here,
We must drive my darlings, we must drive to the corner store,
We the barrel-assed snarky snackers, all our crunching on 7-11 depends,
Doritos! O doritos!
O you chips, frito lays division chips,
So crunchy, full of salty goodness, full of memories of manly pride and a long gone athletic build,
Through a powdery film I see your effects, see you proclaiming with nutrition facts,
Doritos! O doritos!
Has the potato chip fallen?
Do they feel greasy and less tasty, wearied over there beyond the end of the aisle?
We will crunch up to kickoff, and then switch to beer,
Doritos! O doritos!
At game time we leave the crunch behind,
We must listen with intent to three men, of varied worldliness,
Hopeful and with baited breath the words we hear, of this the end of the NASCAR year,
Tacos! O tacos!
I think Bob Griese just shot his wad!
lol

Yeah, caught that earlier in the week. Awesome stuff so far and a lot like Trojan Football Analysis, which it seems he’s patterning his site off of.
We saw that too….we were considering bringing him on at The BBC, but Scout.com swiped him away!
that’s actually pretty funny… glad Montoya can find the humor…

When he said he didnt have the ‘resources’ I’m sure it was a nice way of saying that only football and bball matter.
Save your synchronized swimming and soccer for the official site, because nobody cares. But this Montoya tweet however, is EPIC! Kudos Jason, Kudos
Here’s a little background as to why the above is relevant:

Who DOESN’T like tall beautiful women in spandex?
Apparently Jason……

waahhh wahhhh title nine.
next thing you know women will want the right to vote too!!!
That’ll be the day.
Morning OJ has just been spit all over the floor…LOL

@Seth – why don’t you start your own blog about the other OSU sports? We’re here to read about things tOSU football & basketball.
Juan Pablo could teach Mark Sanchez a few things…
If I saw a Volleyball post on here, I’d read it and wait for the punch line, only to be emotionally destroyed because it was an actual story.
That said…
Blackjack Taco.
…with pepper-jack sauce!
Black dress, black cat.
That was so funny, I did like Optimus Prime and TRANSFORMED!

Sorry, I can’t go on anymore. I just read my biggest pet peeve several times. It’s RIDICULOUS NOT REDICULOUS
Yes, that’s right I’m ending it all over spelling mistakes! haha GO HILLTOPPERS! Number one, baby!
Apologies for that one, realized the misspelling after I posted it. One of those spelling errors I tend to make.
Hey we all make mistakes. I have a problem spelling received. I always want to spell it recieve.
Who came up with the poll today? Not your best effort.
Actually, it’s pretty funny. Thanks for pointing that one out.
you know what sucks? this blog!
This is a blog?

You just made me look up cacophony, dammit.

I thought we were going to have an altered version of “Green Eggs and Bag of Doritos for a moment there…..letdown city
