A Saturday night date with the Hoosiers. If all goes according to plan, the Buckeyes will continue to build momentum and iron out kinks on their way towards becoming a scary dangerous team.
I'll be looking for a couple of things. First is the obvious storyline of Saine getting the captain nod and earning his first career start after a couple of weeks of hard running and a slight tweak of Herron's ankle. This is the fifth game of the season and the team still doesn't have a running back that can claim a 100 yard outing. Blasphemy.
The offensive line, while appearing to gel at times the past two weeks should get a pretty good edge test from Middleton and Kirlew tonight. As in this is likely the best pair of defensive ends they've seen. Is this the game Mike Adams makes a name for himself -- in the film room at least?
If it's not Adams, it will be interesting to see if another youngster uses this game to announce his presence. As a redshirt freshman in 2003, Santonio Holmes showed up in Bloomington for game eight of the season with two catches for 37 yards. He went off to the tune of six catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns. The following season, a green Teddy Ginn did this to the IU.
Finally, I really want to see Anderson Russell step up and have a great game. I'm hoping he just needs to get his head right and he'll bounce back tonight filling in for Coleman. If this team wants to have a big season, they will likely need Russell's services down the road.
What are you guys looking for?

Comments
Let's go Bucks! Don't be part of the mantra today of these crazy close games. Let's hear the gameday crew run down the close games with so many teams and then say "Ohio State absolutely rolling over IU tonight."
The Big Ten Network game intro is the lamest thing I have ever seen. How does that get past the people that it has to get past?
Mike Adams gets another start at RT. Brew Crew is operational.
Flatts is kinda shitty, but they're our shitty Rascal Flatts.
Actually, I take it back. The Velveeta sponsorship is even more lame.
Saine with some long runs to start.
TP with the homage to Ty Moeller on the eye black today.
He has looked good.
All he does...
You know Pops loved that.
Great hands by lil Carter.
Loved how D dot Carter was soo concerned about handing the ball to the ref after the TD. Likely a combination of JT and dad in his ear.
That kid is the truth
Russell with the recovery!
If the fumble stands, great play for Russell's confidence.
Silver bullets!!!!!!
Anderson Russell with a nice recovered fumble. Let's kindly reign in the hate now fellas, shall we?
Sigh. Lousy BTN being unavailable here. Just saw the highlight on ESPN, though, it was a nice catch, and yes, I think most guys after dropping the ball like that would've just left it there. So polite!
Tp looks like he trying to stay in the pocket a little longer tonight.
damn big 10 network, i missed two plays
WTF? BTN come back from commercial and it's
third down? They need to concentrate on the production rather than trying to push the queso.
Andy Miller got a serious tan in Bloomington, didn't he?
Wow, gift first down there. Newsome banged up on the play -- hopefully just wind.
Worst broadcast ever so far.
Andy Miller. Jonathan Newsome. It's not that hard, BTN.
False start - everyone drink
how can espn or cbs or whoever else manage to get it right for like 119 teams or whatever, but the BTN can't even know 11 teams...
Let's not do this. We'll all be hammered by 9.
darn, i haven't seen that yet, now i'm pre-pissed, lol
Might as well be identical twins.
This must be a damn important drive for 2 TOs.
Darrell Hazell looks to be calling some plays again.
Back foot, arm punt.
lol sideline awareness
Sheessh!
Hazell was stylin' and profilin' with his jacket tucked into his khakis.
I made the girl go out and buy some Rotel and Velveeta, so I guess those annoying commercials work.
Aaron Pettrey, close your grip a bit to get the nice little draw down the fairway.
Next time, take the delay of game so Pettrey can kick from 40+ where he's comfortable.
Must have cheese....must root for Tennessee
I was about to say the same thing. 40+ Pettrey is a beast. Any closer and all bets are off.
well, since there's no way for me to watch the game here in japan i'm just gonna stare angrily at the espn gamecast and hope that the BTN broadcast is really really terrible
Does anyone know if TheFan broadcast syncs with today's broadcast? These guys sound like they were picked up on the side of the road and they're paying them with food.
Agreed, although you gotta love Mason using the "Silver Bullets" moniker.
i have a sudden urge to "come to Penn State!"
OK - I won't complain any further. Good morning.
http://www.thebuckeyebattlecry...
instructions on how to watch, that's how i'm watching it too
Anyone know who's D that is out there?
Well, this is surprising.
Come on Brian Rolle, get on your horse!
welp, looks like the shutout streak is over
I thought they outlawed stick um
barf
Review that fumble.
okay, kind of glad i didn't have to watch that
Ridiculous catch by Doss. Shutout streak over. C'est la vie.
BTW, can someone teach the BTN how to superimpose their bottom line? They resize the entire picture without preserving the proportions every time it pops up.
Upheld.
If we don't come back with 7 I'll be ticked.
Did he just say "Buckeyes lead by 7"?
Very disappointed so far. Seems like our defense didn't respect IU's offense with all this wussy tackling.
First play of the ensuing drive prediction: off-tackle
Can't get the game in Germany as well...Gamecast for me...
"Buckeyes lead shrinks by 7"
weird wording, but whatever
"Shrinks the... Buckeyes' lead by 7" or something along those lines
Small gets it done!
probably didn't, but indy is much improved over the last few years. they still mostly stink, but they aren't a glorified 1-AA team anymore
If this is HD, it must be raining pixels.
Who needs Flash Thomas? I kid (kind of).
These announcers can't even talk. Than the picture goes to atari mode
Wow, ripping off ESPN's commercial format. It just annoys me even more since the B10 Network only comes in "Standard Definition" on Comcast out here. It seems like I'm watching ESPN Classic, at times I'm hoping Spielman slams a RB to the not-yet-existing Fieldturf.
Sanzenbacher is SOLID this year.
Way to punch them back in the mouth
Bill Lynch: YOUR SOUL IS MINE
Ho hum, right down the field for a TD. I love it.
Gotta score first.
I was about to point that out earlier. The feed is doing that thing is does with the parquet floors during BTN HD hoops broadcasts. Evidently they bought their HD cameras out of the trunk of some dude's car.
yaaaaaaaaayyy! i bet that was fun to watch
lol
Or did they? This online stream is like 2 minutes late. :(
Wow. That's exactly what we needed. Great job all around.
Easy.
BuckNasty, is your signal grainy as hell? I get stuck with all of Paterno's wrinkle's in clarity, but the grass is from Madden's first game during gameplay.
I try to imagine it's being broadcast from an iPhone. Because if it were, then this looks really good.
jeez offense - you could have given the D more time to rest...
i kid i kid
Fear the Rolle when he's blitzing.
That was an excellent open field tackle by Russell.
Those Ind. back ups looked like they were doing a circle jerk
Me too.
He's having a pretty decent game so far.
long time listener, first time caller...
hope yall don't mind if i stick around tonite.
/dogsitting with nothing else to do
Yeah, same thing. Zombie's come in clear, Buckeyes... not so much.
Beers are in the cooler. Help yourself.
Long time listener... not so often caller myself. I'm stickin' around too!
terrelle pryor is a cool dude
how was saine not down?
No fumble, he was on his knees.
nm.
Gamecast with Elevenwarriors for the color...
That's some Harvin-esque change of direction.
Pryor's going to have 300 yds rushing tonight. 100 forward, 200 laterally.
Hold on to your gum coach!
+1
+1 for the comment and for lynch's epic gum toss last week.
qb draw qb draw qb sneak qb draw cover eyes with left hand throw wildly downfield
Back to playing for FG's
Ok, weaken the grip a bit so you don't draw too much.
If these missed FGs come back to bite up .... ouch, head....hurts.
Pettrey's on the fix
wtf is up with pettrey?
pettrey i am gonna punch you in the back of the head
Some get him an 8-iron he can hit straight.
wait, what?
+1
/im a golf addict...currently seeking help
Paging Devin Barclay/Ben Buchanan. We need a short kick specialist.
Pettrey's off, but I'd rather him get all his"suckiness" out in this game then when we need him!
Get the misses out of the system @ IU...
i don't think that's how it works, but i hope you're right
There's a support group for it, we meet at the range
No kickoff I guess
BTN is failing hard
I've only played once this year. My hands are shaking from withdrawal.
Really? That's definitely how it works... I think?
hello, my name is spencer and i have a bag full of putters that don't work...i mean, im an addict.
so what's the atmosphere at the game like? a night game at indiana sounds silly to me, like a dog wearing a dress, so i can't really imagine it
Pretty sedate, not exactly rowdy.
Yea... they were way late coming back from a commercial earlier. WTF? And I'm in VA so I'm paying for this?
uh...can we get some coverage in the flats please? PLEASE?
The the movie Idiocracy included a CFB game, Indiana's ridiculous arm-swinging cheer would've been in it for sure.
It appear's that they're using TiVo to telecast this game and it's replays.
INT!!!!
Todd Denlinger's soft hands to the rescue.
great INT. love the bigguns getting their hands on the ball.
How do you not see Todd f'in Denlinger in all white in front of you?
Playing a lot of Cover 3. Preventing the deep threat, but they're nickel and dime'ing the pants off this defense.
TURD DURLINGER!
How did Denlinger make that read? That was sweet!
1 game suspension! Do it!
Dirty
Beanie clearly taught TP a thing or two about the SOAJ
Maybe we should kick a FG from the 38 to get Pettrey's confidence back...
Seriously. LOL
Zone blitz
Stolen from Rob Oller's Twitter feed: Pettrey's misses have taken away half of Tressel's playbook.
Nice
is saine hurt?
You mean SAOJ? :-)
hshahaha fullback pass, hilarious
Hahaha, nice.
Shankapotomus
Er, yeah. Thanks.
Also, nice grab by Baby Boren
Boren!!!
If he is, these guys will never tell us
Fullback touchdown = everyone has to finish their drinks.
There is some delay in my comments from Germany...
this is MUCH better.
feeling good...feeling the flow. it's all in the hips.
Now I get it, only freshman are allowed to score 6 pts tonight.
The deep onside kick!!! Coach must have read my flashback post on Monday.
this makes me smile
Ridin' the bull, Boren?
Pick 6 before half
Posey scored earlier, didn't he?
so chappel's dree brees-esque birthmark is giving him actual passing prowess?
na.
I'd like to second that, Saine was killing it earlier
I hope btn remembers that there are two halves in a college football game.
we don't care for facts around here...
am i allowed to be snarky since im new?
these announcers are ridiculous - no attempt at impartiality
Glad to see the beating off hand motion is a play call for the Hoo Hoo Hoosiers. (That play is "throw the ball way behind your receiver", for those wondering)
Chappell definitely fears Thaddeus Maximus.
this will be preeeeettyy lame if we give up points before the half
Forgot he's a soph - they grow up so quick
hahaha, not just allowed, it's appreciated
Evil Tressel...come out
errr.... expected
no, this is not a good time for evil Tressel
Supposed to be a right leg injury for Dexter, btw.
lets just hope it's a quad strain or something...hope he's not gone for long.
stat-wise, good first half for the offense. 96 passing yards isn't all that great, but 183 rushing yards is awesome and it looks like the coaching staff finally figured out how to use our collective rushing ability
i feel shaky about our defense just because they gave up their first points in 10 quarters.
i suppose it could be worse..
Shutout=over... time to hang a hundred on 'em! It's the only way to not drop in the rankings!
No?
Those big boys all have jacked up legs. It's hard not to think they all played with injured knees every week to some degree. DonJoy must make a killing from BigTen linemen alone with those knee braces.
I would say you're overreacting, but given the way we've been treated in the polls lately...
just hope saine isn't hurt
I'm worried too. He was nowhere to be seen after the first quarter.
also if larimore is down that's a big loss. we can cover for him, but he's probably our second best DT
I like Larimore at NT though, he's held strong in a tough assignment. I dig Dexter, hate to see him go down.
Well, we've been talking about the DL depth all season. Time for it to show up. But I agree; big loss. I think Denlinger will mostly make up for it.
Hazell needs to call plays full time. I can see a pattern in the OSU offense. If were using the same play on the same drive over and over again such as the zone read and read option then we gotta mix it up a bit. Different formations, downfield stuff, over the middle, throw the RB. etc.
yeah, denlinger and simon are both more than capable, but you hate to see a starter go down even with the kind of depth that we have on the d-line
Sorry for the silly question but why's the status of young Jamaal berry ? Redshirt?
red eyes i think.
/tip your waitresses
//try the veal
He's apparently a little nicked up and the staff is (understandably) hesitant to give him PT/potentially burn his redshirt
probably, he's semi-injured and we haven't really needed him as of yet because of depth. but if saine is hurt, we've got a gimpy herron and marcus williams and that's about it for RBs. Tressel really doesn't seem to want to burn berry's redshirt, but if you gotta, you gotta
hiyooooo
Thanks. Lmao red eyes. Spencer
I'm being sarcastic, but you get my point!
Small thread-jack, but Bup3, how's Japan?
Which seems odd these days; if he's that great he'll be gone in 3 years of elligibility anyways so the whole redshirt thing of past seems barely needed in retrospect anymore. It's not like we have recruiting issues, we get backs every year.
I'm not going to be mad about seeing one of those kids get another year with our strength & conditioning staff, as well as top notch nutrition.
The throw to the fullback about made me cream my pants.
pretty good, i'm in kyushu so it's still way too hot but it seems like summer is about to release its death grip sometime soon. also there's a chick from dublin over here so i improbably have someone to watch OSU games with. except this week, i hate you BTN
Hazell in '09!
lets go d...get a 3 and out.
Why are we leaving guys so wide open on the outs?
Good to hear. I think you can stream games internationally, but I don't believe it's free.
http://www.bigtennetwork.com/c...
im gonna stop talking...god damned jinx.
oh, also i got an entire school of kids doing the OH-IO cheer
What the nuts is up with the kick coverage? it's been gangbusters until today.
yeah it's like 25 bucks, i'll just wait till next week. thanks though
ANDERSON!
For Thorpe!
hahahah dammit anderson russel, you're about 6 games late with that
thanks for the gift, chappel.
saine is back...nice.
saine is back, aaawwwllllright
I wish the BTN would get with the program and have the game ticker for scores... kinda like every other sports network! Oh, and coming back from commercials in time wouldn't hurt either... just sayin'!
For our fellow Buckeyes abroad, what game tracker are you watching? You don't seem very far behind real time at all.
My sound feed is messed up. "Pootie Tang" Indiana
My massive grip: the bright yellow play clock. I'm pretty convinced it's a penalty on every down.
just the espn one, it does a pretty good job: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/...
this is a good place to go for it on 4th
aw balls
Applause.
yeah, it really does look like a penalty every time. And with our O-line, i'm not even that surprised when I see it
Tressel ball.
Same as me...(Germany)
I believe JT mentioned him in the press conference this week. Injured - and it looked like he was not going to make the trip to Bloomington at that point.
Fantastic.
queso... do want
Yeah, I noticed that too... thought there was a flag, but no.
i love this defense. they're only gonna get better...hells yea.
Cole me down on the penny stai.
2-and-BBQ
Rob "Diesel" Rose is making the most of his senior year as a reserve.
woah, what happened with the safety?
Seriously mulling out to buy some. I'm hapless to the marketing.
BTW is all that red in the crowd really Indiana fans...or did Buckeye fans not get the "wear gray" memo?
VB Buckeye, where you at?
It was a bad snap that the punter had to go low to field, and by the time he came up with it Rob Rose was inside his shirt.
Gotta be the latter. Sounds like a Partisan Buckeye crowd.
awesome
Ocean View... Norfolk, but VB is more recognizable... and less ghetto!
Botched snap, resulting in Rob Rose helping the Indiana punter look for a contact that no one lost in the Memorial Stadium end zone.
i like your handle there, maybe i should be posting as bup bup bup.jp
I figured...
was that a screen or just terrible blocking?
Here comes a draw play and a punt
Glad to see Pryor take the sack and try to "make something happen" and screw it up!
Duron Carter may be arrested for attempted murder tonight.
not try...oops!
huge block by duron...LOVE THOSE GENES BABY!!!
Not sure how long of a drive it is for you, but my buddy says the DC alumni association as awesome. Rowdy fun gamewatches, flag football and softball teams, lots of cute young professional girls too.
Hate the traffic in DC... not far, but looooooong!
looks like he really wants Tressel to award a Tatum hit of the week
i hope the offense gets fired up again. did the o line take a break that series?
He better get it. That was a sick hit.
Boom got a catch!
Nice catch by Boom there.
dexter with a knee strain? did they give him an mri already to make sure nothing's torn?
hopefully that's all it is.
Chappell is turning into the Toledo QB with all those throw-aways.
hmm, okay, now i think i'm lagging, gamecast still has indiana on offense
Speedy Spitz!
Austin Spitler is SOOOO slow. He could never reach the quarterback blitzing from the weak side.
LOL no, Boom caught a throw away pass on the sidelines.
maybe not
yeah, my sopcast stream still has indiana with the ball, and they just got a first down...
hahahahaha
Gotcha. I am in the Beach. Check out Tango's Tavern off of a side street near Independence.
Yeah, he is. But he has been solid when not forced into space.
IU's punter ought to have his scholarship revoked.
man. i'm not even watching the game and i'm still entering the "late third quarter indiana game" semi catatonic state
I know it... but drinks are cheaper at home!
Case in point: if his speed was any kind of legitimate liability, he wouldn't be out there.
There's some good football going on in Miami, but I just can't take my eyes off any Ohio State game, no matter how lackadaisical
damnit offense.
Pryor's passing is just awesome.
evil Tressel... just a mirage...
...nnnooooooo...
He missed it by that much.
Mason finally catching up with me on the golf references.
Indiana almost beat scUM? Man, hopefully this is a decent benchmark against us and TTUN, at this point in the season at least.
I loved watching Tate Forcier almost die while having to actually run during plays at the end of the 4th quarter today. He always looks like he just got beat up. Sissy. ESPN best stop talking about him as a Heisman candidate.
thank god IU's offense is so putrid otherwise this might be a lot closer.
Eh, we're passing it up 19 late in the third. Pryor just isn't executing.
BTW, where's "Hoosier Hal"? I want to know how he feels about his "three best players on the field are hoosiers" comment now.
well our defense is pretty good too
agreed, we're looking really bad out there on defense =/
he's either a midget who's going to get killed by bigger players or the biggest drama queen ever.
either way, i hope nothing good happens for that d-bag...ever.
Pryor does have the three touchdowns, but he's had some really off throws. He's made better running decisions tonight, so it's helping to offset the passes, but he still has some work to do.
i disagree, our defense is not looking nearly as good as normal today
Come on let's get Saine his 100 yards... he's at 93 right now on 13 carries. Good for 7.2 YPC.
PRYOR IS SLOW BUT INDIANA IS SLOWER LMAO
Did anyone hear what Mason said about Tressel/Hazell and playcalling?
indiana has 7 points and under 200 total yards, we're doing fine
well yea...still isn't any less frsutrating.
Except Tebow has proven himself (I hate to say it). Forcier hasn't done anything yet, just has a ton of d-bags from m!ch!g@n love to blog about him doing something. They're soo desperate.
Rob Rose again!
no, what did he say?
Something about how it looked like it was all Hazell, and JT didn't even say anything at one point... I think that's what I heard.
Yeah... I hate to say it too. I hate that guy!
Is it me or does Small seek out the nearest cloud of opposing players?
tate is also about 50 pounds lighter than tebow, if he were a slot receiver instead of a qb he'd have transferred to rice by now
Just now? I can't say that I was paying attention but he mentioned earlier that he hadn't seen Tressel talk into his headset an entire drive, leading him to believe Hazell was the principle playcaller.
Cool, thanks. I kind of thought that's what he said, but wasn't paying that much attention at the time.
wow, sounds like good news
Win.
I think he does. And then he moves it.
Damn, he should have bounced that one left. Wide open to the endzone. Damn.
aaaalllright, good going brandon, way to make my poll answer accurate
Bauserman on the next drive?
I was expecting a FG! Alright!
Aw, I wanted Saine to get a TD.
lts go D...put a nail in it.
The game down the street from me isn't nearly as good as hoped; Cal is getting shutout 20-0 before the half.
Cal's laying their second egg in two weeks.
Thank goodness USC is up big on Cal. I was beginning to seriously question that game (USC-OSU). Barkley with ~200yds in 1st half.
cal is almost as big a tease as oregon is, they look great for 2-5 games every year, and then never fail to fall apart midseason
when did nathan williams get all inked up?
i swear...i don't remember all those tats last year.
i could be retarded tho...wouldn't be the first time.
I'm happy we're gonna win (obviously) but a third straight shutout woulda looked good...
Nothing sells queso like Ron Jeremy's stunt double
USC had their one loss to a crappy team, now they're gonna run the table...I hope, so we look good?
I agree. Unless something spectacular happens late, it's going to be a long week until Wisconsin. Nothing too memorable or overly encouraging from the game.
Little surprised Pryor is still in. And throwing.
Are these announcers still watching the game? Every flag they seem totally baffled. Even I was yelling "face mask".
Evil Tressel?
To be fair those flags are late late late.
10 minutes left, up four touchdowns, still passing. Evil Tressel remains.
That or Evil Hazell.
hahaha, glen mason was looking at the other announcer like he was a big juicy steak
I'm not sure I like the confidence Pryor's getting from these hopeless lobs. Those are going to get picked eventually.
I was hoping to see the playbook open up and Pryor actually pass... he's running a whole lot better now, but still!
this should be pryor's last drive, indiana hasn't moved the ball at all in the second half and isn't gonna get back in this
Hmm...
flash sighting on offense.
Agreed... against anyone other than Indiana=Pick 6!
Anderson Russell, for the vindication.
Guys - I think all the passing may be a reflection of how banged up the RBs are more than anything. Just a guess.
This is crazy. Tressel is hella pissed.
meh...seems like a glorified practice session.
at what? someone or something specific that happened, or just the universe in general?
Practice session for sure...
he clearly said "no pleats"...and what does he have? PLEATS.
someone's head will roll.
Oh crap. Thomas is down.
Pryor is trying to get Flash killed.
+1000
hahaha, damn pleats!
The (deserved) post-USC criticism, I'll wager
or maybe he's got really bad OCD and can't stand that we have so many more rushing yards than passing yards
pretty sh!tty practice session...
He's good...
WTF. DC with another big hit though.
Pryor's deep (more than 10 yds) ball is not so good...
TP cannot throw...he has got a lot of work to do.
well, i guess we're still new at this "evil" stuff
He'll get better, he'll get better, he'll get better... keep saying it...
So I am watching this on Gamecast, fumble followed by a pick? Are uou fucking kidding me? This kid's got some work to do.
If they drive down and score, I'll throw up in my mouth.
THE DIET COKE OF EVIL
Did that stupid lady say TP's making a lot of good decisions tonight? BTN fail.
He's a "work in progress." Give it some time... right? Guys? Guys?
hey, troy looked like this too before he turned into michigan death phoenix.
just one calorie, not evil enough
Isn't Diet Coke the Diet Coke of evil?
Uh, he did. Prior to that last pick and a few of those arm punts, I'd say he was solid. More so than he was against, say, USC.
Sorry, but all TP's "work" is not showing, and his mental choices are horrible. A raw athlete can dominate in high school ball, definately not in D1 college ball. Welcome to the ups and downs of the rollercoaster ride of TP. This ride will be over about 2 years.
I'll have to look at the replay with an open mind. Maybe I'm just persuaded by the cardiac conditions some of his scrambles and throws give me.
chill out dude, pryor threw 3 tds, was 16/27 for 159 yds, and rushed for 69 yards. maybe not the best game in the world, but certainly nothing horrible or even merely bad
Yeah, I understand. I'd say he made 5 or 6 truly bad decisions, compared to eleventy billion against USC
Hey guys, we should totally but Bauserman in. Mop up duty is safe, right? (not on a delay, I did see that)
Someone's fishing for a Jack Tatum award.
Again, I'm being sarcastic, but seriously in a big game Pryor will need to step up! I know he'll get there and he's still "new" at this...
He's now fumbled 1/25th as many snaps as Michigan's QBs have
Well, he's no Brady Quinn, but Pryor is certainly gonna get better! Sorry... I went there. I keeed, I keeed!
hahaha
Wow - a time out. Welcome to doucheville. Population IU.
Screw Bill Lynch. That was pure Joe Tiller.
GD garbage time TD. f that.
Weak. Karma I guess for throwing so much on them earlier in the fourth quarter.
Damn! That's weak...
I hope Hazell remembers that for next year. Four quarters of all out offense.
Had fun. Thanks 11W. Night all.
im out...yall have a good night.
evil lynch is in the house
1. Glen Mason is one of the top 5 most annoying people in the world.
2. Our offense is, to put it nicely, average.
3. Why the hell do we waste great talent like Klein, Sabino, and Sweat, to play a guy who is only starting due to tenure? The next two years are what this team was built for, why not play the guys who will be there?
Not as weak as Michi(you know who's) win! No referee needed...
Night...
Good thing our recruits outrank IU's by at least 50 spots, because that was an ugly win.
anyway, that certainly was a game against indiana. i feel like i could watch any of the games from the last 5 years against them and gotten the same experience
Spitler hasn't been actively terrible; thus, I'm alright with him starting. If/when he gets toasted by Stephfphfphfon Green, I'm open to his replacement. Until then, I don't want to develop a rep for benching solid seniors.
Iball, don't forget who he played for and almost coached...
I know, I couldn't believe it when I saw it was him. Looks like Geiger made the right call on that one. We all know playing at OSU doesn't automatically mean you are a word wiz.
I think Storm Klein is twice the player Spitler is, and probably Sabino too. But who would know? We haven't seen them. And where is Berry? I know he was hurt, but he looked ready to go. Our run game needs a shot in the arm.
offense C
defense B+
spec. teams C- (D?)
I gotta catch a BTN broadcast
Shugarts looked like garbage
We gave up one sack, didn't we?
Couldn't have been too terrible.
He said nothing of relevance until Denlinger's int, when he said, "how'd he miss that guy?"
And if he repeated the phrase, "giving Ohio St a dose of their own medicine!", one more time, I was gonna hurl.
I had to turn on Paul Kiels.
Shugarts does not looked fired up, alot of guys don't look fired up.
It was nice to see Duran throw that awesome crack back, don't think I've seen that from an OSU receiver since Boston.
Actually, Hartline threw a devastating block at Iowa a few years back. Might have been the best play of his career.
This is what Im sayin, how does a coach owe anyone on a team? Truth is all thes guys are of equal talent, despite their star ranking out of HS. Give me the guys who want to play fired up, and who want to hurt somebody. That is the team who wins a championship.
True.
A lot of that game was hot and cold. Good thing we have some medium-strength games for a bit. Looks like the coaches are moving in the right direction in play calling though. At this point though, it seems like most of TP's behavior is engrained and not a matter of "a work in progress". I can't buy into the "it's his 2nd season", he's had a TON of personal attention and coaching since the day he arrived which Vince Young and Troy Smith did not have. He's an athlete, not a truebred QB. O well, I love his passion and intensity; that isn't taught or coached.
I have defended TP quite a bit, but he is making it harder and harder to do.
He did the same exact thing in the Under Armour All Star Game to Tom Wort (Oklahoma). I freakin' love it!
