The reverse throw and catch and the early onside kick were nice treats even if they didn't earn Mark May's approval. The Nitts will have a couple of more things to think about now.
Final: 45-0. Huge spread covered, despite the four missed field goals. But how hurt is Pryor?
Now we go big. Ride, ride, ride...

Hmmm... could the kicker going down be the best thing that could have happened? Stick with me, here... this will force JT to think "touchdown first" in the red zone, from here on in. Just a thought...
That idea has legs, sir.
Wisky over PU, 37-0. PU beats OSU, OSU crushed Wisky....what to make of all this?
That would be great.
That you can't predict an outcome based of mutal head to head results?
God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs.
And Purdue probably just sucks.
Anybody watching the Nebraska v. Baylor game? Nebraska just got a 15 yard penalty for "slamming the QB to the turf." What's next? A 15 yard penalty on a WR for "abusing a DB in space"?
Anyone else like how this schedule should "toughen us up" for our bowl game? No lightweight comp. in the last three game should prep us. Thoughts?
You forgot about Michigan. One lightweight game in the last three ;)
Pryor sucked once again
You turn it over 5 times your going to lose. Even to Purdont
I thought the problem has always been the layoff between the Michigan game and the bowl game.
Not a chance. Inside the 20, so max 30yd fg. He'll take that 9 of 10.
Georgia looks like Cleveland Glenville.
It is, the game is supposed to move to Thanksgiving weekend next year.
Michigan is still Michigan.
Remember the 90's.
Yeah they do. When do our black bowl jerseys get in?
mark may - what to say. ohio state runs a posey pass for a TD (a sweet trick play), one of the only i've seen all year, and the douche goes on and on about how it's against NMSU and then rolls his eyes for another 5 seconds. and the reason it drew his ire? because it wasn't against a better team? and the bucks couldn't do that against a better team? so why would the bucks ever do it? or because the bucks played NMSU? as opposed to all the shit teams that every team in the SEC and Big 12 plays?
there's no rhyme or reason to his complete fucktardness other than spite.
Ignorant.
Iowa disagrees.
:D Jeff Goldblum movie quotes ftw.
If there's a God, never.
Watching the Penn State game (they're down 7) with Speilman doing color is pure joy! Dude, knows football!
None of our final three opponents has looked particularly impressive today. I'll take that as a very good sign.
scUM=BAD!
Penn St D looks softer than I thought they would.
how hurt is pryor?
thought they said on the sideline that he wasn't injured at all.
agreed
Greg Robinson. Good hire?
ha! not looking like it right now
I think it's safe to write Michigan down as a win. A surprisingly easy one, too.
It would appear that way, however the same could have been said about Purdon't
Very true.
But Illinois is one of the 10 worst teams in the entire FBS.
also true. now that i think of it, purdon't beat illinois, illinois (is going to) beat scUM. it all adds up. the juice is loose.
nice write up on the game.
trick plays didn't make me scratch my head. just two more things that penis state think they have to defend.
Michigan tears are all the treats I need.
Thank'ee, Southbay.
and you don't have to check them for razor blades
np.
spread the word, the LOLverines are back!!!!!!
BEST HALLOWEEN EVAR.
The Wolverines are one referee-aided break away from being winless in the Big Ten and considering they close with Purdue, Wisconsin and us, there's a great chance they won't win another.
Oh, and cook shut down their open thread halfway through the fourth quarter. Seriously. Best Halloween ever.
Cook? guessing it's mgoblog?
LOLVERIIIINNNEESSSS!
I'll have to admit, this is the first time I'm actually doubting RichRod's ability to bring Michigan back. I think 3-9 was largely explainable, given the lack of talent for the system, the presence of a walk-on starter, and some truly terrible safety play.
But at least two of those three things were completely correctable heading into this season. Losses to Iowa and Penn State were understandable (though I don't know if I expected 'em to get blown out by the Nits). Michigan State was odd but I chalked it up to MSU's strengths (passing) matching up well against Michigan's weakness (the secondary). But this? This is worse than JT's job against Purdue, and it's before RichRod has built up the big-game, BXI-championship credibility that JT's still coasting with.
If he doesn't win at least 8 games next season, I don't think he'll be back. And the once-and-future-potential-savior Les Miles is losing his luster, too.
whenever the lolverines lose it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. regardless of "conference prestige" talks.
2nd'd, but man, the Big Ten is just atrocious right now. Michigan losing had no real effect on that, but YEESH
Here's hoping we somehow capture the 2002-2005 magic of Southern Cal, conquering a weak conference but actually showing up in the bowl game as well.
Since he didn't even have pads on for the 2nd half, something was up. He said after the game that he "bumped" his leg, and he'd be fine for PSU.
i think the big ten is better this year than it has been in a while. thoughts?
I think Wisconsin is actually rather good and the typical cream puffs (NW, Indiana) aren't godawful, but the teams at the top (us, PSU, Iowa) are pretty average in comparison to the past few years. I think '05 Penn State, '06 Ohio State, '07 Ohio State, maybe '08 OSU/PSU would rampage through this conference, laying waste to anything and everything in their path.
But Bielema is definitely making me eat crow. If he can field a competent secondary, he might bring a Big 10 'ship to Madison one of these days.
sure, 05 and 06 OSU would prob have their way with the current big ten, and 05 penn state would have some fun too. but as a whole, i think the conference has improved even with the marquee teams a bit weakened.
next year should be very interesting though.....
Shouldnt it be "especially because of mark mays disapproval"?
i know we like to get carried away with the 'off with his head' around hurrr, but...
richrod. trouble. maybe?
i think he would be ok if he was just losing. with ncaa inquiry letters, bad press about burned bridges and soured business dealings, and general unease among the faithful to complement the bad team i am not convinced he makes it.
how long is his current contract?
i give him another year. without 9 or 10 wins next year he's out like a blind kid in baseball.
6 year 2.5mil per
Oregon is doing EXACTLY what OSU should of done against USC. Way to miss the boat guys.
How much I hate scUM...
A kid came to my house wearing a (whoever the fuck wears #4) scUM jersey for Halloween. I ask the kid if he was a Michigan fan. He said yes. I told him I was a Buckeye fan and he better go somewhere else if he wanted candy.
I felt bad 'cause he was about to cry so I gave him candy anyway.
you're showing weakness. never show weakness to the enemy. no matter how young they are or how much they cry.
Satan always comes to earth in the form of a child.
Tennessee's black jerseys are ugly, they look like a high school team
Michigan fan or not, the appropriate move for the kid at this juncture is to pull the "dog shit in a burning paper bag" trick on you... Beware.
Autzen is rocking.
"don't put it out with your boots ted"
"dont' tell me my business, devil woman"
*stomp stomp*sniff sniff* "IT'S POOP AGAIN"
"HE CALLED THE SHIT POOP!"
I just get frustrated watching teams beat USC. If any year was the year to pick them off, this was it. And... we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
Now that you mention it...
They are who we thought they were, and we let 'em off the hook.
The only reason i haven't yet destroyed mark may's soul is because it is a hate crime and i don't think my mom would approve.
Georgia looked like a FCS team in their black helmets.
Playing to win is an interesting concept. May you be stricken down by the Tresselball gods.
Sure Ohio State and Penn State may be a little softer this year than last, but look at how much talent both teams had to replace, and how young they both are at key positions. Iowa, is pretty damn good, they may not win pretty but they win! They have won every game with a schedule that hasn't been easy. They beat a pretty good Arizona team and Penn State on the road. Wisconsin is a lot better, Indiana, Purdue, and Northwestern are a lot better than normal, I think this conference is turning the corner. That being said, I don't give a shit! I care about 1 team winning and if the big 10 has 5 top 10 teams they still aren't going to be as good as the SEC. All I care about it one team in the big ten winning every time they play. The rest of the conference could lose every damn game and I wouldn't care. If Ohio State goes undefeated, they'll never be kept out of the National Championship game. They just need to win when they get there. I could care less about the conference though. That's one thing I hate about SEC fans, they cheer for their whole damn conference and it's stupid.
Yeah so much for Dickrod having a great 2nd year! Just goes to show it's much easier to have success in West Virginia and Tulane than Michigan. You'd think he would have had his best 2nd year ever given the resources and relative ease getting recruits to Michigan. That guy is a clown and I'm so glad that Michigan fired Lloyd Car for him. Michigan would be so good if they kept Carr and had Mallet as their QB right now. Thank God they are idiots up there.
Illinois isn't nearly that bad (I have them at #84)
Purdue is actually a decent team (better than Oklahoma St).
Michigan is #87 in my rankings. If we lose to them, we should just forfeit our bowl game.
