The Buckeyes picked up their first verbal commitment of the class of 2011, as Kenny Hayes, a defensive end from Toledo Whitmer pulled the trigger tonight, a day before offers can be sent in writing to current juniors.

Hayes (6-5, 255) has great size for a junior and can continue to grow into his large frame over the next two years before he makes it to Columbus. He is a consensus top five player in the state for his class and possesses great pass rushing skills. He also had an offer from Illinois, but chose the home state team and helps Jim Tressel begin his quest for another top recruiting class in 2011.

In Other News... USC projected starting corner back, Shareece Wright, has been ruled academically ineligible and will not be able to play this fall for the Trojans. Of course this puts even more pressure on the Bucks and gives USC even more excuses should OSU win the game on September 12. Josh Pinkard will move from safety to corner and Will Harris will take over Pinkard's safety position to fill the void to start the season. Stay tuned for more as the drama is sure to continue before Matt Barkley and the boys from Cali make it to The 'Shoe.
