Yeah, it was an embarrassment for sure. I would love just once that when our state is portrayed in any way, they would go to Princeton (where I live) Bedminster or the dozens of beautiful towns where no one speaks with that God awful accent that is really a Staten Island accent and where the women don't dress like those freaks on the Real Housewives.

BTW, I love not having to pump my own gas.

I think his lateral movement is better than Beanie's. He's not the load of bricks that Beanie is but some time in the weight room will fix that. His film looks awesome but, like Poe said, the competition might be a bit suspect. Then again so was Pryor's. We'll find out how good Smith is soon enough. I think he's going to be a good one.

My view from watching the film is that Beanie was stronger and Rod may be a tad quicker (at least vertically) in HS

Eh, I can't say I agree. But it's hard to tell with the competition. ESPN thinks he runs like Beanie Wells did in HS and I can't say I disagree. They are both fast backs that are big. I don't see the Saine comparisons; 1 Rod Smith film shows more moves and better agility than Saine had. And not many people are as fast as Saine.

Rivals and Scout think he's the 5th and 6th best back in the country, respectively. Depending on how this year goes, he could reach 5 star status.

You would like to see him truck a few more defenders for his size compared to their size, but I've only seen 6 mins of film from 3 years.

looking at his film again, "sub par" is probably a little harsh. his lateral movement isn't that bad. but for a kid his size it'll have to get better. i really believe that what made Beanie awesome and better than an unbelievably fast and big RB would normally be was his ridiculously quick side step, which let him keep going without losing any speed.

smith needs to develop that

i'm actually not as high on him as some other people are; he's tough and strong as hell, but i think his lateral movement is sub-par. he reminds me of the way saine ran in high school, only not quite as fast.
