It's no secret that offensive line play has been the weak sauce in the last couple of big games for the Buckeyes (save for the Fiesta Bowl against Texas game where for the most part they played well).
While most were aware of Nic Siciliano's move into the QB coach position (with Joe Daniels going into an advisory role), Siciliano's replacement has been named and it could mean positive things for the growth of the line:
A potentially huge development has come about. Jim Tressel hired Keith Uecker. He is coming over from Wayne State. Uecker was a 4-year OL starter at Auburn before playing 10 years in the NFL. He has been an offensive line coach for 7 years. He is going to be the Offensive Quality Control Coach.
(Thanks to GA Buckeye for the heads-up on this one in the comments)

While there is no information on the guy, I do hope he is the kind to breath new blood into the line and make them play like champions in big games. Boren and a new Offensive quality coach is "new".
Try this... http://wsuathletics.cstv.com/s...
It can't get any worse!
The radio just said that Ohio State has offered Taylor Graham a scholarship.
Indeed: http://ohiostate.scout.com/2/8...
Uecker?! haha Juusst a bit outside.
HAAAAAAAAAAA
i dont get it.
totally drafting Mo C in the fantasy league. nothing but good can come from requesting his name be put into the draft and then having him occupying a roster spot.
SEC and Auburn fans must be pissed
Uh.....seriously?
Seriously, over the past three years, with Ohio sports in general, haven't you wanted to black out your Indians/ Buckeyes gear like that guy? (Randy Quaid?)
I don't want to get too excited here (and it's tough). Does anyone have any info as to when the last time a shake-up occurred concerning the offense? I'm just trying to make sense as to how significant this really is. Does Bollman still coach the O-line? What exactly is Offense Quality Control?
...... I smell a replacement in waiting.... please, please, please. Bring the guy in, let him learn the scarlet and grey ropes and then bye bye Bollman... please, please, please.
Seriously between OSU and the Mets I hate life.
FYI, just saw " The Hangover" with my wife. Laughed our arses off. Worth the $10 ticket.
Bollman is still the offensive line coach and I wouldn't quite refer to this as a shakeup because it's Tressel doing things in a slow, deliberate fashion, but it's still good news.
First, it's another voice on offense and another guy with experience working with linemen. Tressel had to get in and motivate that crew last year and he has better things to do.
An offensive quality control coach is basically a scout/coach/advisor in one role. Siciliano worked a lot with the quarterbacks during Daniels' illness, but they also analyze opposing defenses, watch a ton of video, create tendency, situation and personnel reports -- basically all work to make the offense better.
This move could mean Bollman might part ways down the road, but as of right now, he's still the OC and line coach.
they also finally got blocking sleds!
and I think Kent Graham was a better QB than that Montana guy. So his kid's gotta be better.
Crazy talk to want Joe Montana's son instead of Kent Graham's son as your quarterback?
Graham could turn out to be a good one in his own right (and Montana could flop), but you can't say being Joe's son hurts.
Fail.
Well in that case then...dont forget that you have to cut 'down the road' and not 'across the street' LOL
Ski, I take it you are a Yanks fan then? I also pull for the Tribe.
