I know we've harped on it around these parts, but Ray Small is getting his propers for leading the Big Ten in punt returns last season: he's just been named to Phil Steele's pre-season All-Big Ten team.
Ohio State is represented on the first team by safety Kurt Coleman, cornerback Chimdi Chekwa, offensive lineman Justin Boren and return specialist Ray Small. Second-team selections were quarterback Terrelle Pryor, safety Anderson Russell, linebacker Ross Homan and defensive end Thaddeus Gibson.
Kicker Aaron Pettrey, running back Brandon Saine, center Mike Brewster and receiver DeVier Posey were third-team picks. Kick returner Lamaar Thomas was on the fourth team.
If the man can stay out of Tressel's doghouse this season (which is a big IF, if history is any guide), I have a feeling he could be on the verge of a breakout year at wide receiver. Maybe not quite like Glenn's 95 season, but if it's anywhere close to that, we'll all be better off for it.

who are the first-team DE that beat out thaddeus maximus?
That would be Brandon Graham from scUM. Im gonna go on a limb and say WTF?
Im thinkin Minnesota and Illinois are gonna be solid this year. Is any one else encouraged that Justin Boren was second team after sitting out a year?
He was pretty highly regarded at Michigan, so I can't say I'm surprised to see him on Steele's list. What's really surprising is that he was (from all accounts) leaps and bounds tougher than the rest of our linemen.
In case you fellas care, I started a blog based about my running and sports fandom. I also linked 11W on there...here is the link, http://bigbuckeyerunner.wordpr... and yeah I know it's bootleg and cheap, but leave your thoughts.
they have a 4th team???
Awesome! I'm sure you'll find it addicting.
Making 4th team is comparable to getting those silk ribbons for 5th place in CYO baketball when you were 8
Where is Boom on this list? I have the utmost respect for Phil Steele, but does he know something we don't?
We kind of thought the same thing, seeing Saine on there, but no Boom.
Thad is the best end in the big ten. I think Saine is going to shock alot of people showing how explosive he is when healthy. If...and its a big if but if Tressel turns them loose all year they can run the table.
