The Buckeyes are going into a tough place to play and meeting up with an angry team. It would be nice to steal one, but we're not exactly counting on that happening.
Technically, they probably don't need to win this game to get into the tournament, but losing here makes Iowa and Northwestern to close the season must-win games. So, have some fun, play loose and let's see if PJ Hill can take another step.

PJ hitting an early three was nice (thanks for buying a shirt whoever that was) but Purdue is looking pretty good early.

normally I'm not sure. Today I'll give them a pass. I think it's because they are calling the game so tight today that we can't afford any more bump fouls called.
got alot of things working against theme here. playing a crap zone that doesn't work, shots not falling, and refs are on a hair trigger. Hard to over come all that.
The refs are sucking both ways, though we are getting the worst of it. That's not the biggest problem though...Buford and Deebs are a combined 1/9 in support of turner and we're getting killed 14-5 on the glass at the under 4 tv timeout. Those two things are the main reason we're getting spanked.

I know the ESPN.com box score updates incorretly a lot but does Matta's bench tech count as a team foul because they have shot 1 and 1 but it shows only 6 personals

Then they went to a commercial break and when they came back OSU was taking the ball out from half court with 16 seconds on the shot clock. What?

this might be the worst officiated game I've seen this season (Both sides - though OSU getting worst of it)
I told my wife before the game tipped off that OSU was some how going to get screwed by this set of refs.
in addition to him usually playing uninspired he has been in foul trouble most of the game and they have called a lot of off ball fouls

It ain't Purdue's fault. Calls didn't go our way and our fragile psyche couldn't handle it. I blame Matta.

Simply cannot blame the refs for a 25-point loss, although the officiating was a degree of atrocious that shocked me, even from Ed Hightower. This team is by far Matta's most inconsistent squad. I didn't think we stood a chance, but the tourney hopes are not dead. We needed to win three of four, and that's still possible.
And also, Diebler was positively spectral today: two of ten from three, attempted two field goals total that weren't threes, missing both.
What a frustrating season
