People are mistaken when they refer to Tebow as a quarterback, he is a thrower. Bradford is a quarterback, he makes reads, goes through receiver progressions, everything a quarterback does. Tebow is as much a 'scheme' player as Harrell is for Texas Tech - so why does he get so much more love?! He benefits from having so many talented athletes all over the field, which draws defenses in to defend multiple run looks, then as soon as that happens they run play-action during which he'll stare down a single receiver and usually make a great throw. And as we saw tonight in his two interceptions, he pretty much blindly throws it, amazingly 60% of the time it works.

I think he is overrated because every sportscaster I've heard spends the entire game comparing him to Jesus.

Honestly, I think he's a really really good quarterback, and it seems like he's probably a pretty decent human being. But after watching that game I'd take Bradford over him as a NFL GM in a heartbeat. Bradford was nearly perfect all day, his receivers just weren't up to how physical Florida's corners were playing (although the missed pass interference call on that first long ball didn't hurt them either - if a corner hit a receiver in the chest such that the ball lands on his back, I'm pretty sure he beat the ball there). Tebow looked good - they really couldn't stop him when he ran, and he threw some really good passes... and some pretty bad ones, too - the two picks looked Boeckman-esque.

What brings about the complaining about Tebow is that the announcers spending the entire game jerking him off. When he runs for a first down, it isn't just impressive, it's "passionate and inspiring." Literal quote from today's coverage. That's a bit much for anyone to sit and listen to for too long.

But they didn't lose. USC got beat by Oregon State, Penn State blew out Oregon State, and we all know what happened in the Rose Bowl. So with that victory chain out of the way, I think we're even.

Do you guys seriously think Tebow is overrated? Do you think he doesn't deserve the praise he gets? Guy's won two titles in his career, will probably broken every record that can be found in Florida's recordbook, and from all appearances is a classy, humble guy off the field, person foul late in the game notwithstanding (and you know various Buckeye greats have mouthed off just like him before - David Boston, he is not).

This all reeks of envy and bitterness about '06. He deserves the praise, quit bitching about it. For all the tongue-bathing he gets, he's a far better representative of the game than, say Kobe for NBA or Terrell Owens for the NFL.
