We’re ready for your emotional feedback to this week’s first draft. Based on what we saw over the weekend, our top seven remain intact.
Bama keeps the top spot since they remain undefeated but we’ll be surprised if they can get past Florida in the SEC title game and we still think USC would beat anybody on a neutral field with the possible exception of the Gators.
Texas stays ahead of Oklahoma based on their head to head outcome.
The rest of the poll is getting irritating as the teams outside the top ten seem virtually interchangeable depending on the week. So when do the playoffs start, anyway?
You know the drill…Commence to bashing our rankings in the comments!

‘Bama stayed undefeated for their last week with a 36-0 win over Auburn snapping a 6-game losing streak to the Tigers. Glen Coffee ran for 144 and a score while the D held Auburn’s putrid offense to 8 first downs. Next up: SEC Championship vs. Florida. |

Tebow passed/ran for a combined 265 and 4 TD in Florida’s 45-15 pasting of Florida State. Herban (@ Florida) improved to 11-1 against Tennessee, FSU and Georgia. Next up: SEC Championship vs. Alabama. Finally. |

Probably our favorite game of the weekend. USC 38, ND 3. Claussen: 11/22, 41 yards, 2 INT. First downs: ND 4, USC 22. ND 3rd down conversions: 2/14. Liters of gravy chugged: ND 64, USC 0. Weis at ND: 28-21. Ha Ha! Nelson Muntz voice>. |

Colt McCoy enhanced his Heisman resume with 311 yards passing and 4 combined TD (2 rush, 2 pass) in Texas’ 49-9 beatdown of A&M. |

The Sooners broke open a close 44-41 game scoring the last 17 points of the 4th quarter beating Oklahoma State 61-41 in Stillwater. Sam Bradford kept himself squarely in the Heisman mix with 370 yards passing and 4 TD. Dude now has 46 TD passes and 4,080 yards. Sick. Is Oklahoma really that good, though? The D gave up another 452 yards. |

The Red Raiders scored the game’s final 21 points to turn a 28-14 upset bid into a 35-28 win over 4-8 Baylor. I think it’s safe to say Tech shot the wad. Silver lining, besides the W, is that Michael Crabtree apparently escaped a serious right ankle injury in the 2nd quarter. Watching it live, I thought he might have to euthanized but thankfuly his dad claims it’s just a sprain. |

The Cowboys had a shot trailing by just 3 midway through the 4th but collapsed late in a 61-41 loss. Zac Robinson threw for 254 (3 TD, 1 INT) and ran for another 90 (1 TD) in a losing effort. Okie State defense surrendered 557 yards and 12/18 third downs. |

Ball State moved to 12-0 with a 45-22 win over W. Michigan becoming the first MAC team since Marshall (’99) to enter conference championship game undefeated. Big whoop, right. |

Tech put up 31 second half points to upset Georgia 45-22 between the hedges. For the game, Tech racked up 409 rushing yards to just 81 for UGA and completed just one pass for 19 yards. The W snapped a 7 game losing streak to the Bulldogs. |

The Dawgs couldn’t stop the run (409 yards) allowing 31 second half points in a 45-42 loss to Georgia Tech. Stafford threw for 407 with a career high 5 TD and 1 INT while Moreno added 17/94, 1 TD. Massaquoi blew up with 11 catches for 180 yards and 3 TD. |

The Ducks helped the Buckeye BCS bowl cause destroying the ‘third OSU’ 65-38 in Corvallis. Jeremiah Johnson exposed the Beaver D with 219 yards (203 in 1st half) on 17 carries while QB Jeremiah Masoli threw for 274 yards and 3 TD. |

The Beavers choked on it, throwing away a Rose Bowl bid, allowing 694 yards of offense in a 65-38 home loss to Oregon. Of course, if UCLA beats USC, the Beavers will still head to Pasadena but I think there’s a better chance of wood beating fire. |

DROPPED OUT: Florida State (#25).
I’ll never except the fact that Utah and Boise are better than us, NEVER!!!
Theres not alot to worry me about Texas Tech either, especially at a nuetral site.
You guys should hear the UC stuff down here in cincy. They even have a logo that says, “Ohio’s BCS team” WR Marty Gilyard (good player, good person) says they are the best team in the state. I just dont get it.
LOL. Let them have their fun, it’s obviously a new feeling to them. This is like losing their collective virginity.
Cincy can kiss my Scarlet and Grey ass.. they have had their chances at the Buckeyes (in Football) and lost…. anyone remember the 2002 game… they choked twice and dropped a TD in the end-zone…. They are Big-11 wannabees and the Orange Bowl is gonna be a suckfest this year with no one watching on TV, empty seats in the stands (maybe), and alot of pissed off Orange Bowl organizers. They want the Buckeyes, but won’t get the chance to pick them because the Orange Bowl Picks last due to the NC game being played at their site the next week.
Keep talking Bearcat fans….. Mr. Smith, if you are reading this please scrap one of our shitty Non-conference games next year and the year after that and let’s play Cincy.. at the Shoe or Cincy, or at a Neutral site… let’s just run some Terrelle Pryor up their asses for for 4 quarters and shut them up. “Ohio’s BCS team”??? Give me a break… who the hell did they beat this year??
Cincy is laughable at best. The only good team they played this year, OU, BLASTED them! They couldn’t beat us if they gave Mauk his 112th year of eligibility.
Man, this weekend with no tOSU football was heartbreaking for me. I have nothing to look forward to, other than drinking….LOL
I guess my Giants are rolling, and Plaxico is trying (terribly) to dodge his own shots. LOL We’re so good we don’t even need him, thats the best part. Ok, enough NFL talk……
I hope that we get a shot at Texas or Bama in the BCS game. Either one would be a great game, and beating either one would do wonders for our team. All around great matchups
“Our advice to PSU fans, stop acting like you are dying to play USC.”
A-fucking-men.
Our advise to OSU fans, stop acting like you are the best team in the conference, you aren’t.
Or, put another way, we haven’t been conditioned to fear big games because our team doesn’t always lose them.
PSU Fan,
You haven’t been conditioned to fear big games because you haven’t been good enough to play in them.
Because it’s much better losing to unranked 4 loss teams and flushing your national title hopes down the shitter.
“and flushing your national title hopes down the shitter.”
Really, from an OSU fan?
PSU Fan-
Say Hello to Shonn Greene, he just ran by your defense for another 65+ yard touchdown
My ADVICE to “PSU Fan” is that he/she learn how to spell, before replying to any typewritten comments. How oafish.
And “PSU Fan?” Your team will get the roses - strewn on its mass grave, by the Trojans.
Penn State will be D.O.A. on New Years Day.
I hope that D. Clark has gotten over the head-bashing Laurinaitis gave him a few weeks back….Maulagua, Mays and Cushing have a suprise waiting for him
The Giants are really impressive. Two years ago, I couldn’t imagine how anyone could justify keeping Coughlin. Now, he looks like an institution. I can’t think of another professional coach who has done such an amazing 180-degree turn in personality and outlook. He’s been terrific.
My Steelers killed New England, but we’re the worst 9-3 team in football. Ben’s horrible.
What was your favorite game of the weekend? I loved the standing ovation Notre Dame received from their fans after getting their first first down of the game as time expired in the third quarter. What a hoot.
The Kansas/Missouri game was the one game I most enjoyed watching. I don’t know who the color guy was - I know he works the Bengals games on radio - but he’s terrific. (When the Steelers play the Bungles, I sometimes admit to sneaking a listen to 610 AM, just to hear their coverage. Their guys do a great job.) Kansas’ drive to win the game was wonderful to watch: snow falling, Mangino trying to jump, crying Missouri fans in the stands. Great game.
Army/Navy this weekend. Go Navy!!!
We received three NC bids since the BCS era started. How has PSU fared? They have a long way to go before puffing their chest out as B10’s #1. They have this year, barely, and that’s not even scratching the surface considering it rested on a freshman QB’s incidental fumble. PSU has been nothing more than a middling program in a top heavy conference for a long time.
Favorite game of the week for me was GT running all over UGA’s vaunted SEC defense. I would have died of laughter if an A-C-C chant broke out.
“I hope that D. Clark has gotten over the head-bashing Laurinaitis gave him a few weeks backā¦.Maulagua, Mays and Cushing have a suprise waiting for him”-BuckeyeSki
No kidding. If our tame pass rush gave Clark fits, it will be fun to watch what USC’s will do.
That guy is a prick, but I for one would be happy if they beat USC
“Our advise to OSU fans….”
…is to avoid using the same spell-checking software we PSU fans use, right?
Anyone want to take a run on who gets fired first: Tuberville or Weis?
i’ll repeat this again…they lost to uconn 40-10…nough said..go cincy..hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Weis fo sho
Come on guys, Cincy is the best community college in ohio, hand down
Texas Tech got screwed out of a BCS bid….they won’t make a BCS bowl at all now.
If Oklahoma wins the Big 12, it’s Oklahoma and Texas getting bids. If Missouri wins the Big 12, it’s Missouri and Texas.
That’s really no way to treat a 7th-ranked one-loss team.
The BCS must be changed.
Penn State fan…. you win one game in Columbus since 1993 and finally beat Michigan and now you are thumping your chest?? And all those late season losses to Michigan State on the road?? You truly have a program worthy of all the smack talk… congratulations!
oh yea…. Iowa just scored again!
Yo, PSU Fan (this year), I was doing a little research….
Since this century began, here are the final results for each season. Please note that the final BCS standings come out BEFORE the bowls….
2001 - Ohio State unranked, Penn State unranked
2002 - Ohio State #2, Penn State #12
2003 - Ohio State #5, Penn State unranked
2004 - Ohio State #25, Penn State unranked
2005 - Ohio State #4, Penn State #3
2006 - Ohio State #1, Penn State unranked
2007 - Ohio State #1, Penn State unranked
Current - Ohio State #10, Penn State #8
The lesson here is…..
In the years PSU is good, we are still highly ranked.
In the years PSU bad, we are still highly ranked.
If Charlie Weiss keeps his job then he has some kind of dirt on the ND president or athletic director. Terrible coach, worse person. Tuberville is an ass too. I wonder which coach has thrown more people under the bus.
When did OSU refer to UC as “little brother?” So they made up their own title to get an imaginary beef with OSU to create a non-existant rivalry? Sad.
My advice to PSU fans is enjoy what you have this year because next year we go back to normal with OSU winning the Big Ten outright. Your fans are delusional assholes who think your program is more than it is. Our fans are just assholes.
Kyle… Weis is a big fat blowhard dick and Tubberville is a giant cock……..
http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2008/05/30/tommy-tuberville-doesnt-think-very-highly-of-ohio-state/3
They Both should be fired and tar and feathered for incomptency!
Spot on Kyle, spot on…..
Im tired of Auburn fan crying about ‘03 when Auburn was left out of the title game LSU won.
The only reason they were 13-0 is because they didn’t play LSU that year, who played for and won the NC.
PSU fan- get off the school library computer and go back to class, 10th grade english is definitely a class you dont wanna miss.
By the way, PSU isn’t even the second best team in the Big TEN
Looks like Brian Kelly doesn’t think Cincy is a great job either… they may be playing the bowl game with an interim coach…
http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/1438511.html
Michigan should have hired Kelly instead of Rodriguez.
Looking like another bad year for the Big Ten in bowls. The only favorable match-up we have is Iowa, should they play Georgia.
USC will almost assuredly flay Penn State and parade around the Colosseum using the Nits’ innards as a scarf, and Ohio State will probably get bumrushed by the SEC runner up in Nawlins or any one of the scary-good offenses from Big 12 in Tempe.
But there’s always next year, right?
Also, I’d say to get your knocks in while you can with Penn State, but that program is due for a major downturn, looking at their last few recruiting classes. Probably starts next year. Schadenfreude time, bitches. At least you’ll go out with erm, prison rape at the hands of SC.
Pogue’s right. We’d better hope we play Georgia. What I saw on Saturday didn’t allay my fears that a Big 12 offense would run up and down the field on us.
“Michigan should have hired Kelly instead of Rodriguez.”
I couldn’t agree more. Even Hoke would have been a good hire. Tennessee missed out on Kelly; perhaps Washington won’t be so foolish. The guy can flat coach.
The problem with coaching in Washington is the LOCATION. Its a beautiful state with all the scenery BUT, its hard to get top notch players up there. Kelly is a hell of a coach but he will have a hard time trying to convince recruits to come play up there.
I agree…. VERY difficult to get top-notch recruits to Washington State. East coast and southern players are very far from home and there is very little TV coverage of Pac-10 east of the Mississippi. Brian Kelly is a great coach and Michigan missed the boat on him (thank goodness)… I don’t think he will go to Washington, but the interview process will help him get another high profile job (Auburn, Notre Dame???, Miss State??)…. we’ll See
I live in NY, which is well documented on here, but man it must be cold in Cincy year round, being in the shadow of Ohio State and the Shoe year round must make for irritable, cold summers
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/chi-01-notre-dame-footballdec01,0,7676067.story
I predicted Meyer to Notre dame and I stand by it today… based on nothing but what I read and hear from down in South Florida.

has anyone told these guys that they are HORRIBLE?
Man, I hate Penn State fans.
BUT…I hope they pee on USC, somehow.
i hope they do but i hope they dont’ b/c then they definitely won’t be able to STFU
I don’t know why PSU fan is all uppity to us, we have pulled 6 (possibly 7) BCS appearances to this conference to their 1 now 2. Like we have embarrassed the conference? Then get to more fucking BCS games you failures. Yes, we have shit down our collective leg in the past 2 National Championship games but won the previous 4 BCS games, including a NCG. This is the season to root for big10 teams not act like you have been getting screwed out of the BCS only to watch OSU lose. PSU has lost 43 games this decade and appeared in 1 also-ran BCS game…awesome. You had your shot at representing in the NCG and blew it. If you want to be better viewed as national program, try…you know…representing, every year…not twice a decade. If PSU can beat USC in LA, cheers to them. If, as I see, they get their teeth made into a necklace for reyrey, STFU.
To put a (somewhat) rational PSU spin on the situation, those of us in Nittany Lion nation aren’t dying to play USC so as to beat them soundly on national television for all the world to see, we all (well, most of us) know that USC is probably either the best or the second best team in the nation and could beat pretty much anyone on a neutral field (and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena is decidedly NOT neutral for them). However, we want to play USC for two reasons: a. Because it does give us the chance to possibly upset the Trojans and bring some respectability back to the Big Ten and b. Because we already slaughtered Oregon State. Playing Oregon State would have been a lose-lose situation, if we beat them, big deal, and if we lost to them it would have been possibly the biggest Big Ten embarrassment yet. By playing USC, we have a chance to vindicate the Big Ten, and if we can’t do it there’s no shame in losing to USC (unless the score is something like 35-3, then there’s lots of shame).
Steve, I see where you’re coming from and I agree. Beat the best to be the best. Nice little slip at the end there, though. Losing to what is widely regarded as one of the best teams in the nation isn’t quite as shameful as losing to, say, an unranked 4 loss Iowa team when you pretty much have the NC bid in hand.
Thanks for wanting to vindicate the Big 10 though. It’s the least you guys could do after stinking it up for as long as PSU has been a part of the B10 while the real two powerhouses kept the conference legitimate.
Well put, Steve. I think you’ll find the majority of us Buckeye fans would love to see PSU pull off the upset. We just wanted to caution some of the PSU chest beaters against overconfidence. We know. We’ve been there (see 41-14). I think the Lions will fare better than a ramshackle OSU team did back in September but USC is going to be incredibly tough to beat on a ‘neutral’ field.
I would like to see Maybin take out the knee of that Vincent Chase clone USC calls their QB
