Holy shit - people on 1460 are actually claiming Tressel is holding things back again. Jesus christ, people … for how many games does he have to “hold back” before you realize the great gameplan isn’t ever going to come?

of course he will have a couple of wrinkles for UM game, that is an annual thing, but Tressel is only giving these guys things he feels comfortable giving them. that speaks to a whole lot of things, IMO

Exactly. That is Tressel’s fundamental task. What offensive coordinator would come here knowing that JT is going to call the plays anyway. Face facts. OSU is at the bottom of the B10 in just about every offensive category. Hard to reconcile the top talent they recruit year after year with the performance on the field. Is a slant over the middle a complicated play? Is an occasional screen pass? They can’t seem to do basics — and that goes to the head coach.

I reiterate my support of Dave Christensen in ‘09. His offense is practically unstoppable, and paired with a reasonably good defense coached by Bud Foster or someone similar - someone with great blitz packages, who plays man and takes chances - we’d be unstoppable too. These classes Tress is bringing in are so talented I’d be heartbroken if they get next-to-nothing out of it.

Sean: Is the program worse than it was in the late 90’s, how about the mid 80’s, how about in Fesler’s days?? We have lost a few big games and need to correct some things but check your facts before you accuse JT of ‘driving this program to the edge of the cliff’.

Pogue: You are right on. Tressel has his hands full with everything else, he does need someone to focus on gameplan and playcallig on offense.

Sean: Carroll = loss to Oregon State
Meyer= loss to Ole Miss
Stoops= loss to Texas( and howabout that loss to WVU)

If you want to watch exciting football than let’s bring’em on, but if you want to improve in the win column none of those guys would be an improvement.

I agree that a change needs to be made at both coordinator positions but look in the mirror before you call other people f@%king idiots.

Tressel calling plays doesn’t help much either, I’ll concede. Hopefully he’ll hire someone new and cede playcalling duties to him.

Scott, Sean and Kyle are all retards. It is not Tressel. It is not talent. It isn’t even execution. It’s what these kids are coached to do by their coordinators, and their position coaches. They are COACHED to suck. Tressel is there to organize and oversee everything, not directly control it. He speaks to the team occassionally in practice, prior to the game, at half-time, and after the game. He is not to blame for this team’s woes. Check that: his nepotism is to blame, but not him. He’s still one of the top five coaches in the country; problem is he’s got a bottom-10 staff. Yes, that’s on him, but I’ll only to start to blame him directly if he makes no changes at the end of this season. I think he will, because I think he sees this team, and most certainly the program, falling into disarray.

Tressel is an offensive retard. Dantonio should already have his defensive gameplan prepared, and laying on a beach for the rest of the week. I hate to be this critical, but he should be fired. We are winning in spite of the coaching. plug in Stoops, Carrol, Meyer, Miles etc and this team would be dominating. The coordinators are fucking idiots. I think heacock ran 1 stunt today and they sacked the QB….and I am not 100% sure that somehow that was by mistake. I don’t expect to win every game every year…but they are driving this program to edge of the cliff. I am considering raising enough money to to run a full page ad in the Dispatch to challenge Tressel to a public debate. I would think if he were called out big time…he couldn’t refuse.

I had the great unfortune of actually witnessing the offensive abortion that was today’s game live and in person at the shoe. Good lord! Our team is awful, repeat awful. I can’t figure out if they just don’t have the talent, cant’ execute, or are running the wrong plays. In my 27 years on this planet I have never seen a more frustrating buckeye team. So much for dominating the b10 and playing for the MNC.
