I'd second that, except if you haven't noticed as of recent, the Yankees have been supplanted by the Boston Red Sox. The one-time underdog fan favorites have become the bullies. I swear, in the 3 years I lived in NYC, I saw about twice as many Bo-Sox hates as Yankees. Guess it just became popular to back the out-of-towners.

Les why do you refuse to acknowledge the Fiesta Bowl win against Kansas State. That team had Darren Sproles who was a Heisman finalist. K-State beat Oklahoma 35-7 in the Big 12 Championship. If you remember some even called that the greatest Oklahoma team. i should know I live here in Kansas City, the heart of Big 12 country.

I also do not undestand your reasoning Blowout. If we lose 6 or eight games, we are not even talking about bowl games.

Here is how I view the problems Ohio State faces. The Buckeyes suffer from the same problems the NY Yankees suffer from. Face it most of you, like myself, hate the Yankees. Why, they spend all that money and they are always good. Everytime you turn around there they are, the NY Yankees. Well the Buckeyes have that same problem. I have seen so much Buckeye coverage all the way out here in Kansas CIty. Even though I never get tired of seeing the Bucks, others do.

There will alwyas be those who love to watch the big dogs go down. They hate consumate winners. It took me a long time to figure it out, but the Buck are CFB version of the Yanks!!!

Blowout: If we take six or eight losses in that span I'm not sure we would have had an opportunity at two of the three games I think you are refering to. I would rather win more games, period. I'm embarassed the way we lost to UF but I would much rather lose to FL then say Ole Miss or one of the other OSUs. By the way, who would you rather see as HC? Not pie in the sky because people like Carrol are not coming here.

Tyler, I hear you and it is true to a certain extent, but deep down, you would take 6 or 8 losses in that span instead of 4 if we win 2 of those three games of which we should no longer speak ... I'll be honest and say that I would rather have lost a couple more over the last few years and won some bowl games and not have had the damage to the reputation that we have had. If you really cared about winning national championships you would care about that - if its only the big 10 that matters, well, rankings do not matter there. But as long as we follow a sport where the championship game is a popularity contest, it isn't good to the team that no one likes (scratch that, no one respects ... look a Miami in the 80's )

"You play to win the game"

"YOU PLAY. TO WIN. THE GAME." H. EDWARDS

Tressel understands this, too bad too few of the "fans" do as well. The only thing fans should expect from a coach is victories, and Tress is amongst the best of them. I don't care if we win every game 2-0 with negative offense yardage, the end justifies the means in cfb.

Fact: EVERY Buckeye fan and the MAJORITY of cfb fans can name the FOUR teams the Buckeyes have lost to in the last THREE YEARS. Only the elite teams are recognized for their losses. Four loses, three years. Enough said.

I not saying Copper should be the coach because there is no way he should be. I am saying Buckeye fans are passionate to a fault because Tressel is not a great coach why do think he was at YSU till late 50's. I also say Tressel is 1 out of 3 in the biggest game with two losses being embarrassed by SEC. I am simply saying if you watch there last 30 games Tressel is not a elite coach there is no adjustments, horrible coaching staff, vanilla offense, a trick play in this decade(one a season would be nice to see) and seriously every good team in country blitzes the shit out of people and if and when you guys blitz it looks like there is not a scheme behind it. If you honestly say this team is playing up to its potential then so be it. I think this a very underachieving team and i here about there line play when i look at the drafts i don't see USC or any SEC loaded with line talent usually one guy gets drafted a year i think its a scheme thing. Good Luck this season but you just need to be honest about your coaching staff. Like i said early great fit for Mount Union its almost like he is turning into JOEPA and looks like the game is passing him by, seriously you think you can run the table running the option good luck, defense's will eat that crap up minus Chris Wells because i do think he is the best back in College Football and your offense still's sucks which to me spells out poor coaching

BlowOut: Relax. My point, which I obviously botched, is that who the f@#k cares if Coop's teams were better to watch he did not go to championship games, let alone win and was putrid against UM. Bucks fans did not care about the victory margin during the regular season when the were celebrating at 11:30pm on January 3, 2003. And if they won two out of their last 3 big games they wouldn't care now either. It is all about winning.

Les: I'm not living off of Tressel in '02 but I don't think people want Coop back just because his teams were 'better' to watch.

Les, so we need new coordinators... Tell us something that we didn't know. Some of us may have been slow to figure it out, but the beginning of this season has made it crystal clear to much of Buckeye Nation that while Tressel can recruit tallent on the field, his staff doesn't have the tallent in the coaching department to support the players and make them into the team that they could be.

You are right Robb except for all those coaches compete in big game except Stoops. I am not hating on Tressel look at NFL look at College today old school is gone exclude (Titans). I also read another post, run game and great defense won in 2002 but its 2008 and teams throw the piss out of ball and you can only stop teams for so long. I just got done watching LSU OSU game and that was coaching not talent because the Buckeyes always got talent. I guess twenty returning starters and this team looks like it has not been coached at all. I think everybody in Columbus is living off Tressel from 2002 which is fine and you been to two more BCS games to win it all, but as the country is noticing the Big Ten is weak you can argue if you want the proof is in the games. I hope Pryor can be coached to his great gifts because if not it will be a shame a talent like that gets scared because Tressel is not a risk taker. I am telling right now Heacock and Fickell are the worst x's and o's defensive coaches in the history of your unversity.
