Louisiana Governor Jindal - Not A Buckeye Fan

Gov Bobby Jindal was in Gainesville this past Saturday stumping for his Republican brethren in front of a mix of both LSU and Florida fans. After drawing some boos upon announcing LSU as the defending national champs, Jindal quickly went into politician recovery mode and offered up an olive branch with Buckeye flavor right around the 3:00 mark. Enjoy. (HT: Busted Coverage)

Never understood trashing an opponent after you beat them - demeans the value of their win.

Also, Jindal has presidential aspirations in 2012 and 2016 apparently. You know this clip will come back to haunt him.

F#ck him...F#ck Carson Palmer...FTW...go Bucks. I guess OSU students volunteering to rebuild after Katrina didn't matter I guess Paul Brown didn't matter...seriously, I am in the Navy, after the Florida game (yes I still showed up in my Troy Smith jersey) the ship's barber cut an F in my hair...after LSU they gave me the day off. I was asked 2 things (being a NY Giants fan as well) 1. would I trade the Giants Super Bowl win for an OSU National title (YES)
2. do I e-mail politicians like I e-mail Tressel and Gene Smith. I replyed politics weren't as important.

Jesus Christ can someone e-mail this to Tressel? I am pissed off again.

BTW I live in the south.

Big ups to the other true fans in Disney World after the basketball loss who rocked OSU gear and walked around shouting "O H-

like we had one both titles.

Thank you.

I personally don't think Jindal's comments are that big of a deal. Yeah, it undermines a win over OSU, but he's a politician trying to make everybody there happy. It worked.

Please, if I have to read more 11W Whig Party homerism I'm going to dropkick somebody in the box.

The Whig Party is an oft-maligned rabble of Faustian pharisaical Molly-Flops.

No political comments? About a d-bag like Jindal? Fine. How about this:

Y'all can vote Whig/Free Soil/etc. - I'm all about the Know-Nothings. I prefer my craziness, like Abe preferred his depotism, nice and pure.

Whoops. The word is "despotism". Sorry.

I dislike the Catholic bashing even more than the Buckeye bashing. I can somewhat take OSU bashing, because quite honestly, the Buckeyes have stunk it up in the last two NCs(and our O-line still can't block).

What I cannot take very well is the bashing of one's faith or ethnicity. It makes no sense.

Anyway, Go Buckeyes! Beat Misheegoon's Little Brother(new "Big Brother?")

Why do SEC fans thump their chest and chant S-E-C?

Because deep in their hearts they're still fightin' the Civil War.

I love how my comment was removed even though el caballo de sangre's comment and link are clearly political.

Sorry, I just see that as a story about a guy claiming to have witnessed an exorcism -- nothing policy or party-related.

My comments were deleted, fair enough. Jindal just irks me, and now he's doing it in more ways than one.

Fortuntately, the Whig Party is made up of Ohio State fans. And don't get these Whigs started on the Browns.

Don't believe me, go to www.modernwhig.org. There is an Ohio Chapter of the 10,000-strong Modern Whig Party.

FWIW, we've never once deleted a comment in the past. Not when trolls invaded after each of the last two MNC defeats. Not when Henton got busted trying to buy some love. Never.

This post was the first time we've had to do that and we hope to never again, just as long as everyone can remember that we're all part of the Buckeye party and promise not to inject politics into the conversations around here.

I love ElevenWarriors and think you guys put out the best stuff on the Buckeyes in the Blogosphere. Period. But you can't post a video that is 4 minutes republican talking points and 18 seconds Buckeye relevant humor, and not expect that some people of differing opinions won't let it be known. I agree that politics and the Buckeyes should not mix, but I think that applies to what gets posted as well as the comments. I hope this post doesn't get taken the wrong way or deleted, I just think that if these types of squabbles are to be avoided in the future, then maybe a little more discretion from the 11W staff might be in order.

Mike, good points. We thought Jindal's comments were relevant to OSU stuff and went with them, but it wasn't 10 minutes later that an abortion debate sprung up and that's the last thing we want to see on here. We should have communicated that better or even shut off comments for this post ahead of time.

Maybe down the road we'll loosen that up a little, but being three weeks before the election, emotions are running a little high.
