I wouldn’t read much into the way Beanie went down. Sometimes you just get that sharp pain and the suddenness of it causes you to think “it’s the big one!” (apologies to Redd Foxx). I think from that point on the trainers and medical people were just being cautious. After I saw Beanie come out of the locker room, I figured it wasn’t too serious. He may sit out for the OU game, but wild horses couldn’t keep him from making the trip to SC. If he’s even remotely capable of running on the 13th, he will be out there.

So, I guess the real story is why did Beanie go down like he’d been shot?

Is he that guy on the team that gets hurt all of the time only he’s not really hurt (every team at every level has one of those guys)?

I love Beanie and will strongly consider naming my first born after him, but this is looking like soccer all of a sudden.

Tressel sounds extremely confident about Beanie during this presser…

He basically said the medical staff list him as doubtful for Saturday. Tressel saw Beanie at 10:30 and Beanie told him he felt great.

Beanie is awesome, but I agree with Joe, he must toughen up— the way he went down made everyone think he had a major problem…. and he coughed up the ball. No biggie against YSU, but imigaine it was in Madison on a cold rainy nite and he coughs up the ball after a tweak on the 2 1/2–yikes. I hope he recovers quick and I hope he sees a sports psychologist. I think he is gun-shy after being injured last year…

Beanie’s got to toughen up. I know he was legitimately hurt, but he’s got to get tougher. He gets dinged a lot, and it certainly doesn’t look good to anyone watching at the next level. If Emmitt can lower his pads to move a pile of Eagles on third and one, all with a separated shoulder….

That UCLA game was a hoot. My best friend is a Tennessee alum, but I couldn’t help but enjoy an anemic PAC-10 offense beating an SEC stalwart that’s just loaded with SPEEEEEEEEED.

BEANIE WILL BE BACK…. no grand conspiracy–it not JT’s style, Beanie just freaked. It could work to our advantage, although I think Carroll is smart enough to know that Beanie will play in a game of this magnitude.
