I still have no concerns about the defense, regardless of OU’s 3rd down conversions; when a defense gets 5 turnovers and the team ends up with 26 points, the problem is not with the defense. They’ve still only given up 1 TD in 2 games. Given the fact that Sanchez is not a particulartly mobile QB, I feel very good about the way our D matches up to SC’s offense. Not to mention, we’ll have Washington and O’Neal back in the lineup even though Jermale Hines has played very well in their absence.

As far as the offense goes, I’m still very concerned. First, the playcalling was abysmal; I sincerely hope its because we didn’t want to show anything to SC. Second, count me as one of those who is not yet sold on Boeckman. With all due respect, the guy’s no more than an average QB. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it is what it is. If Boeckman is getting happy feet in the pocket against OU, God bless when Maualuga and all of his 260 pounds comes through on a blitz.

Bottom line, it’s idiotic to assume the Bucks will come into the Coliseum and have another performance like OU. But it’d also be idiotic to assume everything will automatically take care of itself and fall into place by this Saturday night.

I’m in the camp that thinks OSU will lose – and lose soundly – in California. I feel even more strongly about that after watching Ohio State demonstrate its inability to run on a Bobcats defense that couldn’t stop Wyoming on the ground. Wyoming. You know, the Wyoming Cowboys.

I hope for the opposite. I hope I fly out to LA and see OSU play a good game against USC. I hope, I hope, I hope….

“USC actually beats SEC teams.” And chokes against losers. See: The Cardinal, Bruins. You could have had your shot in 2006 but you decided to shit the bed instead. Did anyone else notice J. Bauserman’s displeasure with the 4th and 1 call? You could see it on his face that Mo Wells up the middle was coming and he knew it wasn’t going to work.

We all saw it on our couch and knew exactly what play was coming.

Speilman was the highlight of the game. Sometime’s he’s annoying on the radio, but when he was down there calling OSU out, it was hilarious. I just wish he was allowed to go over and smack the players around.
