Good catch, Brandon. McClellion saw action in 10 games during the 98 season and turned in numbers comparable to what Clements did in the nickel spot (18 tackles in 79 minutes of playing time vs. 19 tackles and 82 minutes from Clements). Most of his minutes came in the first 6 games and he had a 60 yard pick six against Minnesota, but after suffering an ankle injury, Clements saw the bulk of the nickel time to close out the season.

Jack, you may be right. I'm banking on Laurinaitis and Freeman having better years than Kat and Diggs did in 1998, but that's no given.

sorry--laurenitas and freeman are not even close to diggs and the kat--yet. The both need to upgrade their hitting to get there. Think hard. Name me one big hit James has made the last 3 years. One 3 and 1 or 4th and inches when he hammered the back for a loss. All the greats from Gradishar to Wilhelm are remembered for big hits in big games. James is a very good lb but needs to up the intensity to be great

"And, anon, you’re right about those damn jump balls. "

That was me. The system cleared out my info so I had to re-enter it. Yeah, we should have sat back on those long 3rd downs and dared Burke to beat us with his arm. Instead, we forced him to throw it up for grabs, which was his only strength.

Tampa Buckeye,

Previous injuries, thus Chad Henne, do not count.

Nothing hurts momentum quite like taking out the QB.

Great coverage on a vintage team. I remember that defensive line well.

We just put up a Big 10 Conference Preview over at The Rivalry, Esq. and thought you might like to check it out.

How is the team in Utah called the Blaze? That is the last state the term "blaze" should be used in.

The Bucks could have taken Anthony Morrelli out at will of each of the last two games. They decided not to since the back-up would've been an upgrade.

I saw Germaine QB'ing for the Utah Blaze in Arena FB, on ESPN2 the other night, he still throws a sweet spiral.

Better yet, if Florida doesn't slap us silly in the Fiesta bowl, does the 06' team go down as the best Buckeye bunch ever?
