That's not two basketballs. His blinding speed at dribbling actually fooled the camera and left two images of the same ball.

JD...So would you have benched lighty or turner in place of hill?

hill, butler, lighty, koufos, hunter at 30 min a game doesn't sound like a definite ncaa tourney team to me but just my opinion.

a point guard's job is to get open shots for his team not to score. pj hill plays defense and he gets in the lane on offense thus giving open jumpers to his team. If pj hill was the point all year and j bulter would have been at 2 where he belongs we would have made the ncaa without question.

He needs to get a new haircut. The braids look cute on little girls but stupid on college basketball players. I'm just sayin.

Chris, I completely agree. If he does not seriously improve his outside shot....then he will be rendered irrelevant by defenses that will let him take that shot and primarily defend the lane. Let’s just hope he finds that shot (him and Diebler both).

I think Butler did what he had to do in a lot of cases. He might have been selfish at times but I think Matta also told him to look for his shot because of a lack of confidence in the others for a large part of the season. Remember, this team didn't really start to gel until late Feb / early March and even that is a bit suspect considering the NIT run was against shoddy competition.

As for Hill, I can't stress it enough - I want him to be good. I just don't see it and it's not that I'm comparing him to anybody. I see him as a hectic player meaning he can fool you into thinking he's fast but really he's just expending a lot of energy to accomplish the same thing as a smoother player when dribbling, playing D etc.

Offensively, I hope he can improve his jumper but I don't know if it's realistic to think that will happen over the summer if it hasn't happened already. Dude shot 25% from the floor and 54% from the line. Seriously. I know that's in limited FG attempts but c'mon. That's brick city. Plus, factor in teams actually scouting him and you can forget about any room to dribble drive because they'll sluff off and dare him to shoot as I've said before. Factor in his 1.1/1 asst/to ratio and 23% from 3FG and you've got yourself a bench player unless the NIT is your cup of tea. Even if he improves on those numbers, will that be enough?

While I have been in the same boat with Chris regarding PJ this year, I think he is going to show dramatic improvement over the summer. He was simply a late edition last year and didn't have the benefit of being in Cbus for the summer. I can only imagine the pick up games that will be happening on OSU's campus this summer, Conley, Oden, Cook, Redd, etc. This can only help PJ and his development. Plus you know the coaches are putting him through all kinds of drills to improve his skills, because I don't think his effort was ever questioned.

Chris, you knew I was going to have to chime in on this......I would like everyone to point out what PJ Hill has done that makes him suck so bad? Did he, as a senior, lead us to the NIT Championship instead of the NIT? Did he selfishly launch up 3's before the rest of his team was down the court to rebound incase of a miss? Did he oocasionally loaf on defense because he was more focused on impressing the NBA scouts with his offense?

Now don't read into this too much....I'm not saying Butler was bad, but I am saying that a lot of the time he was a selfish player. PJ Hill has done none of this yet everyone seems to be hating on him. Does he need to improve on his outside shot before he can be considered a real threat as a PG?.....God yes! But why is everyone blasting on him before he has really had a chance yet?
