The lack of blocking will actually benefit Troy……Flacco is a 6′6″ statue who ran 4.86 forty and has NO laterall movement. Troy needs to make his impression now; he needs to show that he can create when the pocket breaks down.

people get tired of seeing the same team win all the time and that is understandable. You know Troy Smith will compete even harder now because of the addition of Flacco. My view is Smith has what it takes to not just be a starter but a star in the NFL. As a steeler fan i’d love to see him traded. Remember Steve Young, Farve never starter on the first teams they were with ask those teams now who was right(tampa, atlanta). I think if you look at both of those qb’s and compare just the arm type and the playmaker/winner mentality Troy is a clone of young/farve. Thats just my view of it. So if the ravens pass on Troy because the team sucks and they can’t block a tree then so be it. Troy can follow in the foot steps of Steve Young and Brett Farve. I Know of a team in Ohio that would love to have him.

The current “bandwagon” trend is to be a Buckeye hater….not fan.

I’m not sure which one of the guys (Chris, Jason, or Corey) said this:

â€œThe Buckeyes are the Yankees of college football.â€

But this statement is becoming more and more realistic every single day.

troy smith is a winner and for people who call themselves a buckeye fan tend to forget that. I think most current Ohio state fans are the bandwagon type.

Jason, I noticed that 15 minutes after I’m picking on Hart he gets drafted onto 1 of the best 2 teams to fit his running style (the other being the Broncos).

I need to hold my tongue for 30 minutes everytime something pops into my head from now on.

Tampa Buckeye, I want to see Troy do good also….BUT the 2 games he started were an @$$ whooping the Ravens took from the Seahawks in week 16 and then they beat the Steelers’ 2nd stringers by 3 points in week 17

I think week 16 wasn’t that impressive and week 17 WOULD qualify ad mop up duty. That said, he is young and he IS a playmaker on gamedays….let’s just hope he gets his chance

I’m a big Mendenhall fan, so I think the Steelers are going to get great stuff out of him. At least a serviceable backup to Willie Parker.

Mike Hart is a Colt. That could be a good fit for him.

joe your talking out your ass. troy smith started 2 games last year. so that is quite a bit more than mop up duty ,although he looked great in that role. do alittle more watching of the games before you bash a former buckeye heisman winner. I’ll put money on the fact he’ll start for the ravens next year week one. IF he fail then we will see if its his fault or the fact that the ravens pretty much suck on offense. I was pumped about the steelers draft though. I like sweed and Dixon. Mendenhall will help push parker.
