At least these fundraising events are done by a lot of coaches, and done out in the open. Tressel isn’t accepting an honorarium. And I can think of a hundred better ways to lure a prized recruit to OSU than raising money for a high school athletic department he no longer uses, and may not care about.

Last week, both Herbstriet & Spielman talked about this on 1460. Both of them said this was not a big deal & coaches have been doing it for years. Spielman even said that Bo intentionally did fundraisers to try to lure him to UM. I think these writers are making a bigger deal out of this than they should. Doyel is basically a shock jock author.
