[...] As I mentioned when the whole Tillger/Rodriguez issue first blew up, there might have been a gentlemen’s agreement back in the day, but not in this era of text messages and bulk email applications. [...]

Hi Anon, Sutton averaged nearly 5ypc and also turned in 7 receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown against OSU last season in Evanston (he was out during the 2007 matchup).

During his freshman year, he went for 90+ on the ground against OSU.

Granted, that's not exactly blowing up, but when you put it into Northwestern context, those are great games.

We apparently offered a scholarship to the offensive lineman out of Pickerington when Jenkins declared for WVU, but that was a last-minute shot in the dark, and probably shouldn't count.

I wouldn't fret over Tricky Dick pull in all those Ohio boys. Only one Ohio kid Michigan snatch up had an offer from tOSU, Kevin Koger. It was a steep hill to climb with him, given that he'd always been a Wolverine fan. Even with that, though, Tressel made it a toss-up the last two weeks of his recruitment.

The wall will not come crashing down any time soon.

I'd vote for Kirk Ferentz as the Big T(elev)en's most underperforming recruiter - particularly this past year. When your best in-state recruit is your own kid, and other schools pillage your state, it isn't going well.

Paterno's bad in his old age, yes. But Ferentz has good facilities, a state that should be at his beck-and-call (a la King Tom in Nebraska's good years), etc. I'd vote for Ferentz.

Zook is definitely the guy I wouldn't want to negotiate a car price against, though. Wow.

Tressel should fill DickRod's house full of popcorn kernels and then re-focus the laser on the house so it fills with popcorn. Real Genius is an under-rated '80's coming of age comedy. But don't take my word for it.
