off topic, but while a hearty congrats are in order to our soccer Buckeyes for a great run, I'm not comfortable with how my alma mater is quickly becoming Runner Up U. Hopefully the football Bucks can change that trend in a few weeks.

the Mountaineer boards are crying foul over what appears to be Rodriguez recruiting Pryor while still an employee for WVU. It appears that Pryor knew before anyone else, if you believe this: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=159#s=159&f=2508&t=1663679&p=3 . Wouldn't know the details, and I'm not entirely interested.

However, I can stomach losing Pryor if Henton takes the Troy Smith road to total maturity as a player and person. Henton appears to be 5 inches or so smaller (than Pryor), but is still as exciting and could be as exciting as Troy if he hits the books and game tape. Losing Pryor in the recruiting wars should affirm Henton that he's the man in the future, and that the burden is on him to make himself better in all aspects.

I agree. This will force OSU to find a way to beat that gimmicky type of offense. And, I doubt he will do anything for a while unless he gets Pryor to come along with him.

ESPN is reporting it now, and I kind of welcome it for a variety of reasons. There's no better way to deal with that gimmicky spread/zone read option stuff than trial by fire. Moreover, in the interim, it should be interesting to see how Rodriguez implements his style of offense when his prep star true sophomore QB is a 6'8 immobile tree (presuming Mallett stays).

Didn't see this one coming, though, and it seems that Michigan can't keep its grubby hands off of WVU's property.

Yahoo is reporting that Rich Rodriguez has taken the Michigan job. Can anyone verify that?

No one said henton was darren mcfadden. The concept is the read option, not the person. Henton has enough to run/throw a read option and with saine and/or beanie lined up should be able to make plays against LSU.

true, henton is not mcfadden. however, henton in a shotgun, with saine & bennie on either side of him with an option run/pass going on?

I like it. I like it a lot.

Frankly, i don't think there is ANY gameplanning for that. Who do you cover out of the backfield? if you rush a safety to the line to stop the run, who do you leave in single coverage (or uncovered)?

and in any case, henton is MUCH quicker out of the backfield than boeckman, not to mention elusive.
