Joey GallowayJoey torches the Saints again

For the 2nd time this season, Joey Galloway has captured 11W's Buckeye NFLer of the Week Award. Joey snagged 7 catches for 159 yards as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the New Orleans Saints, 27-23. Week 13's victory gave the Bucs a 3 game lead in the NFL's NFC South Division over both the Saints & the Carolina Panthers.

Because of a back injury, the Bucs' starting QB Jeff Garcia was sidelined and Luke McCown got the start. McCown and the Bucs leaned on the veteran Galloway when it was needed. Joey answered with some big plays, including catches of 41 and 60 yards to set up first half scores. And although Joey's return days are behind him, he was inserted as the punt returner in the 4th quarter to assure possession of the ball. He ended the day with one punt return for 2 yards, but his experience and hands were needed for such a pivotal game within the division.

So far this season, Joey has caught 49 passes for 891 yards for an average of 18.2 yards per catch. This average ranks Joey 2nd in the league behind Andre Davis of Houston with 18.3. Joey has also caught 6 TDs so far in 2007.
