The Buckeyes showed some toughness yesterday. For me, the win was great but I most happy with how hard the team played. Certainly, Matta’s pre-conference schedule gave the young Buckeyes a much better understanding of what it takes to compete against, and beat, a good, talented team. Billy Dononvan made the decision to shelter his young team with a pretty soft schedule, losing the only “tough” game they played (Florida State, and they’re not that good either having lost to Cleveland State). At the end of the day, however, these are two teams that should be much better in March. Probably not as good as the Michigan State, however, who looked pretty good in beating Texas yesterday.

Amazing how both teams were at the top of the college basketball stratosphere last year and now they’re down near the bottom… this game will be competitive.

They were running a contest on the radio for best signs to have at the game tomorrow. One of the options was “Florida, we can always beat you when it doesn’t mean anything”

I think this will be the game we finally lose to the Buckeyes. You’ve played tougher competition and even though the teams are different, the Bucks have to be hungry for a win over the Gators.
