I have never claimed that I care if small schools need the money. My money point is simple. By playing instate schools we aren’t sharing money with our real competition. No school in Ohio is truely competing with us for bluechippers. “Wow” What part of that is confusing?

All I know is that the timing of this schedule works for me. Get some confidence offensively and some w’s. I really wouldn’t want to see us play USC in September this year. I love watching those big games, but there is a huge risk reward (eg Texas ‘05).

wow “small schools need the money”? how is that my problem as a buckeye fan. if i was concerned with the plight of the bowling green falcons athletic department, id be a fan. but until then im gonna worry about what teams we are playing. and yes, we have the game with washington, which, at the time it was scheduled, should have been a good game. im not begrudging that. but YSU, akron, and kent? theres 3 ass-whoopings i could go without being seeing.

plus, we have big time ooc games lined up for the future, it just turns out that Washington isn’t nearly as good as when we originally scheduled them, the first game against them in 2002 was a top 25 matchup and much anticipated, no one can help the fact that they aren’t as good anymore, people need to relax for one year and they’ll have their big name matchups every year well into the future

i think the point is that who gives a shit about watching the YSU game, wouldnt you much rather watch us play a major school? you got to the heart of the issue which is the money, the reason why we will have to sit through akron and youngstown state games every year for the rest of eternity.

If I was a betting man, I would say that Mr. Johns would not be allowed to watch a game with me. All of his comments are played out and not valid. I will love to have ND on the schedule every year. They suck but the average idiot AND the media think they are dope so we get all kind of credit for continually waxing them. As for small instate schools - why share the money with out of state teams or conferences that we recruit against? I doubt Akron is stealing any of our recruits. We are Ohio State and we do not need to play USC every year to look good. We’ve earned out spot through years of whoopin’ ass. I wish tools like this would quit crying about crap they don’t understand.
