The AP has a good wrap on some of Urban Meyer's Ohio ties. I knew a lot about his background but I had no idea that he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves out of high school or that he played college ball at UC. Meyer doesn't try to hide his love for the state of Ohio or the Buckeyes, even stating that he has a large picture of Woody in his home today.
You walk into my home now, and there's a picture of Woody Hayes. There is -- a big one, too.
Elsewhere, ESPN's Ivan Maisel has a pretty good feature on Troy, including this dandy of a quote from Notre Dame's Brady Quinn:
I would have voted for Troy. I really think he did a great job all year not allowing the pressure to get to him, doing a good job for his team and getting his team to the national championship game.
Finally, it looks like new CBJ coach Ken Hitchcock may force 11W into some more Blue Jacket's coverage. The Jackets blasted the Ottawa Senators 6-2 last night. The win was the squad's fourth win in a row and the team put away five power play goals - setting a Senator's record for most power play goals allowed in a game.

The CBJ do not look like the same team anymore. And this is a GOOD thing. They actually back-check now. And when they dump the puck, they actually dump it where one of their teammates has the best chance to get the puck. Obviously, fundamentals are being taught better by Hitch, or maybe players not following through are being held accountable. Either way, they are playing better than I have ever witnessed.
It appears that way. At the beginning of the season, I was going to buy NHL Center Ice, but passed. Then I saw how terrible they were and thought I'd never buy it this season. Now I am having second thoughts.
