Brady Quinn and Darren McFadden will have front row seats when Troy Smith picks up Ohio State's 7th Heisman Trophy Saturday night in NYC. All three were named finalists for the most prestigious inidividual award in sports. Troy is looking to post the largest margin of victory in the trophy's history. That record is currently held by (alleged) head lopper-offer, OJ Simpson. Local affiliate WBNS has a nice piece profiling Troy that's worth a look.

The WBNS link was a good read. I must admit, I was definitely caught up in the hype that followed Zwick to OSU. But I knew something was up with Troy. I read too many articles & heard plenty of interviews telling us how good Troy was. That 2004 UM game made me a believer. Hell, I still bet Zwick is on a NFL roster next year. But whoever takes the chance on Troy, they will reap the benefits because I'm sure he'll do well at the next level.
Also, I was really hoping for Troy to have a TD run vs. UM. It would've been sweet redemption for Desmond's pose against us years ago.
Troy's too classy for that.

Just finished reading the Troy story on ESPN.com (another busy day in the office). Didn't realize Moms had all those problems and you never hear about the other foster dude outside of Teddy Ginn Sr. If Mom can stay away from 42nd and the crack whores, it should be a good weekend for them.
