Say what you will about Ohio State's last two seasons, but Thad Matta, Ohio State's winningest coach, is one of America's premiere collegiate basketball coaches.

So it's of no surprise to find Matta near the top of USA TODAY's collegiate basketball coaching salary database

According to the open market, Thad Matta is America's seventh best basketball coach, which honestly seems about right.

You'll have to visit USA Today for the full rundown, but here's a look at the top ten:

NAME SCHOOL TOTAL PAY MAX BONUS
JOHN CALIPARI KENTUCKY $6,356,756 $50,000
MIKE KRZYZEWKSI DUKE $6,043,979
RICK PITINO LOUISVILLE $6,004,529 $775,000
BILL SELF KANSAS $4,955,186 $525,000
TOM IZZO MICHIGAN STATE $3,471,955 $350,000
SEAN MILLER ARIZONA $3,484,500 $1,260,00
THAD MATTA OHIO STATE $3,372,000 $410,000
BOB HUGGINS WEST VIRGINIA $3,265,000 $690,000
TOM CREAN INDIANA $3,046,250 $740,000
BO RYAN WISCONSIN $2,946,000 $450,000

The school picks up a majority of Matta's tab ($3,272,000), while the coach "only" earns $100,000 in "other" revenue streams. (Tom Izzo makes $535,000 in non-school pay, for comparison's sake.)

The best deal of the bunch, obviously, is Bo Ryan.
