Phil Jackson, the Zen Master, is a man who is known to choose his words wisely. Which is why his comments to cleveland.com about D'Angelo Russell — he called Silk "a great looking kid," and "a great prospect" after last Thursday's win over Nebraska — were somewhat surprising since they were a flagrant violation of NBA rules.

And if Jackson, now siphoning millions from the New York Knicks as their acting president, didn't know that then, he does now; he has been fined an unspecified amount by the league office.

Jackson is no stranger to this kind of fine, either. The NBA took $25,000 off Jackson's ring-laden hands earlier this season when he tampered with Derek Fisher, who was then with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but now coaches the 12-47 New York Knicks.
