James Franklin Loves Alternate Uniforms... For Other People

Unlike a majority of college football programs, Penn State isn't big on alternate uniforms. In fact, quite the ruckus was created in 2011 when Penn State simply added nameplates to the back of their jerseys.

For homecoming this year, Penn State stripped those nameplates for a "retro" look against Northwestern. (The Nittany Lions lost that game, 23-6.)

And it looks like they won't be attempting anything crazy anytime soon:

Like Urban Meyer, James Franklin is a hyper-recruiter, and alternate jerseys as a recruiting asset are undeniable. But it appears James Franklin is well aware of who is cutting his paycheck, because alternate uniforms would certainly be seen as sacrilegious among Pen State's old guard.
