Hey guys, After reading that Coach Ryan's accident was non life-threatening I thought it was a fender bender, he went to the hospital, got checked out and went home. Not even close...

Here is a link for updates from his family:

Here is the first update from his family...

Dear Friends and Family,

We want to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming love and support you've shown us during this time. Your prayers mean the world to us, and we truly believe in the power and authority of healing prayer - so thank you.

As many of you already know, our dad was involved in an automobile accident Tuesday morning while on his way to campus. Details of the accident are still emerging, but we do know that he collided with a semi-trailer while exiting onto the highway. Thankfully, no one else was injured.

Upon arriving at the hospital, he underwent X-rays and CT scans, revealing multiple fractures in his left leg, including his femur, patella, and tibia, along with a severe concussion. Tuesday, he underwent a 10-hour surgery to repair fractures in his femur and begin addressing his knee.

We were able to visit him late Tuesday night after surgery, and despite being disoriented, his spirits were remarkably positive. He's incredibly grateful to be alive, and so are we.

Yesterday morning, he underwent another extensive surgery, primarily focused on repairing his patella and performing a tissue flap transfer from his right leg to his left knee. The surgeons have informed us that both surgeries went as well as could be expected, and they are optimistic about the outcome.

Moving forward, the focus will be on ensuring the skin flap heals properly, maintaining adequate blood flow, and keeping him comfortable. He will remain in the hospital for the next few weeks for close monitoring of his legs.

As you can imagine, it’s been a challenging time for us as a family, and we want to do our very best to support our dad through his recovery. We know you all are here to love and support him as well, which is why we started this page - we wanted to give everyone who wanted updates an opportunity to get them. We ask that you allow our family some time and space to pour our energy and time into being there for whatever my dad needs, and to look here for updates instead.

For those who know him well, you understand that staying still during his recovery will be a significant challenge for him. Your continued prayers, words of encouragement, and gestures of support mean the world to us and will undoubtedly lift his spirits.

If you'd like to send prayers, words of encouragement, etc. please send them to tomryanrecovery@gmail.com, and we'll make sure he receives them in a consolidated form.

Once again, thank you all for your unwavering support and prayers. We're deeply grateful for the incredible medical team caring for our dad, and we remain optimistic about his recovery. We'll provide updates as frequently as possible, so please continue to check here for further information.

With love,
Mack & The Ryan Family.

Coach Ryan has a long road of healing ahead. I would suggest wrestling fans sign in and send him a message in the link above.
